Re: Puppy wants to sleep outside.
A- I dont think 16 degrees is to cold as Winston was outside as a puppie at 12 weeks in 10 degrees and loved it. B- At night he would want to go outside and I would wait 3-4 times during the night to get him back. Even if it means training with FOOD to come, so you can drag him back inside. C- I agr...

Re: Winston Boating Day
Thanks all, yes they both had a good time and was great knowing Winston couldnt escape as he likes to bolt and come back in 30 min. He did try and make a run for it on the sandbar, after playing on the shallow side in the videos, he went running in where the boat is, which is also the channel and th...

Re: What is Po mixed with?
Nice looking pup :) I think she is mixed with something else but always hard to say. Her front feet appear to have a foot ? ie, not walking on tippy toes. Our other furkid "Duff" is half SharPei and we were told Chow (Which I dont think so now) but we still call him half Chow :) He has the...

Re: Winston's Entropian Surgery
They cut from the corner out about 5mm as the eyelids were overlapping, this was partially the reason we had entropian on the bottom eyelids. the eyes are starting to look better as hads been almost 4 weeks now. Looking forward to a few more weeks as the right eye has been slow to heal and seems to ...

Re: Winston's Entropian Surgery
Stiches are out =D= I had to hold him down and the vet did them right there. He now agrees the ointment was bad and made some notes on his file. Now we wait and see how the eyes settle down over the next few months. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs279.snc3/28118_398009623281_546833281_...

Re: Winston's Entropian Surgery
Well I'm a little concerned this morning. For the past year he has been using a anti inflammatory eyedrop (ilium chloroint) http://www.troylab.com.au/products.php?tid=1&iid=30&pid=170 and after surgery he was given a anti-biotic version (ilium opticin) http://www.troylab.com.au/products.php?...

Re: Winston's Entropian Surgery
Winston saw the vet again today about his Entropian surgery. stitches need more time and will come out Friday morning, His right eye may need another surgery as the top outer lid is still sagging, still some swelling and cant be certain for another 2 weeks on a 2nd surgery. I've now taken the collar...

Re: Winston's Entropian Surgery
OK, photos from last night 6 days after surgery. His right eye is the issue and it appears to have to much (ie some slack) skin between the top cetre and outside edge. The eyelid can sort or get stuck curlin in, and once reset by him shaking his head or me poulling it out its fine. When it is is cur...

Re: Winston's Entropian Surgery
Well Winston is doing well with no obvious pain, still has a little discomfort as the right eye is weeping clear fluid, it’s not infected. Went to the vet yesterday about it and they said just continue using the antibiotic eyedrops. Also he had a stitch in his left eye that was rubbing on the eyebal...

Re: Winston's Entropian Surgery
I asked the vet about the infaltable collars, he said no. After watching him the last 6 hours, the plastic is priceless. He will try and rub his face on teh wall or door jam which the infaltable will not stop. The plastic does. HE has been crying non stop the last 6 hours and driving us so mad, sad,...

Re: Winston's Entropian Surgery
Finially got him to settle down in the hallway where he like's to sleep. He just walks into the wall, collar jams, and he just stays there like a lost soul. Hopefully he goes to sleep for a while. I swear this is so distressing watching him. So glad I don't have kids yet.

Re: Winston's Entropian Surgery
Vet just called.
He’s up and looking around. Surgery was harder and longer then thought as closer inspection revealed eyelashes overlapping, had to cut I think into the corners.
Ready for collection in 1.5 hours.
Yippee
