Re: It's Veterans' Day
My thoughts are with my brother and all veterans today. He fought and gave his life for this country in the Iraqi war.
God bless all veterans.

Ok this is a little on the strange side. No wait a minute... this is strange. Why in the world would you not let everyone know the update on Zoey sooner? I understand life can be hectic but you managed to post other posts this weekend. You could have just told everyone you took Zoey in on Friday and...

Re: Breeder in California anyone know about it
Wasn't able to find Morgan Royal Chows website to take a look. I found Royal Chows and they look like champion breeders. Morgan Royal Chows only came up on puppy finder, etc ad sites. When I click on breeder profile from the ad sites the breeder will not disclose information about him without joing ...

What the heck. If i‘m correct didn't Zoey just go in for a dental cleaning? I don't recall you saying anything about Zoey being sick. Maybe I missed it. This seems all to familiar.

You state "i just got my chow back" i was wondering where was he? It‘s hard to give some suggestions without knowing his history. Maybe that has some reasoning as to why he is crying\whimpering.

Re: CATWISE, at LAST!!
Luckily for me Matilda doesn't have a high prey drive to cats. Her best buddy in the house is actually a cat. The squirrels in her yard are what get her going. She watches intently out the window waiting for them to come down the tree. Then she runs over to me to tell me so I will let her out. I'll ...

Re: Life Span of a Chow
I don't think it's unreasonable for a chow to live till 15. My first chow did. I think of her everday and miss her terribly.. By the time she passed away she was virtually blind and had Alzheimer's (the best way to describe it). She had lived a nice long healthy life and had given our family great j...

Re: how to feed a 2 month old chow chow
Wow, where to start. I am assuming you got him before eight weeks. First off get him off puppy chow brand food and put him on some good quality food. Do a search on this site and you can read what others have had success with. Most the time chicken free as chows tend to have allergy reactions to thi...

flea treatment
I was hoping I could get some opinions with regards to continuing flea treatment during the winter months. I live in the Midwest so it pretty much stays below freezing. Do you think flea treatment is needed? Sometimes I feel like taking a break from the medicine would be good. I worry that continual...

Re: Spayed Girl Chows
Our previous chow had to be put on Proin. Roughly 6 months after being spayed she started to leave little puddles when she would get up from sleeping. One pill a day did the trick. She never did mind because we usually put it in some kind of disquise (sliced roastbeef, cheese etc..) so all we had to...

Re: What air temperature
Simple- don't worry about the temp in the garage because your chow should be in the HOUSE. There is no reason that your chow should have to stay in the garage. By 6 months he/she should be potty trained. If your worried about safety or tearing things up then put him/her in an area with a baby gate (...

Re: vomiting white foam?? bloat? stomach twist?
I don't think it's much to worry about. If she is still eating and drinking ok and her behavior hasn't changed then probably all is ok. I have had no experience with bloat or stomach twist so i can't answer your questions with regards to that. I know sometimes Matilda (2.5 yrs) will do the same thin...

Ugh... two female chows together. Been there done that. Would not be put in that situation again. Maybe a male and a female but not two females. None the less what seemed to work in my situation was unfortunately keeping them separated and most importantly implementing NLIF. You can do a search on t...

Re: Training a Chow mix
Congrats on the pottying outdoors:-) chows are very smart and it usually don't take very long to potty train. Just stay consistent with his routine and he'll learn quickly. Remember give a good reward when he potties where you want him to. As far as the crate issue goes not a big deal, he doesn't ha...

Zoey has been asking for more attention from me, like holding her dish while she has her morning meal in bed (on pillow).

Re: Our Chow Chow bit my dad, what do i do? Help please!
Why is Chowder not being taken out much? I think you stated maybe 3 times. He needs socialization. This is very important. It sounds like to me there is a lot of people and confusion in this area and Chowder is not comfortable with this. I think he is telling you this by his actions. Most chows like...

Re: Nicknames!
Matilda's nicknames are stinky feet, tilders. She is such a sweet and loving chow but she really does have sweaty stinky feet. It's so funny sometimes she'll be sitting on the stairs looking out the front window and I go up to her and sit with her and pick up her foot and act like I am smelling them...

How fun. I can imagine diesel loves to open up and run, it probably feels good. I don't have a large amount of acreage for my chow to run but she enjoys her back yard with the bunnies, zoomies and all.
