Re: Chow pup having trouble getting up.....
I've been told by my vet that the HD x-rays can't be done with a conscious dog because they need to overstretch the dog's legs in a way that really hurts. So I don't know ... :? :?: I would not, however, be too afraid of anesthesia. When it's necessary, it's necessary. Loo has been knocked out :D se...

Re: full-blooded chow in need of rescue (but we already have
Yes, why don't you "foster" him, and then keep him, after you've fallen in love with him. I have a house full of rescue pets, I have found the budget always stretches, so why not do a good deed and take him in yourself?

I wouldn't call opening a bag of dry food and feeding her dry food "catering for her". Dry food is what most dogs are fed.kitten1426 wrote:If you keep cattering to her you will her whole life...
As long as she drinks enough, dry food is fine.

Well, then you'll have to keep a leash on Lola, and pull her back off the cats whenever she tries to attack them. Pull her back and give her a really loud "no"!

Oh my, just 9 weeks old and already a little devil! :) Somehow I don't see the submitting technique working. Personally, I can't say believe in that sort of thing. It's a total trustbreaker, manhandling your dog! A Chow respects you for outwitting him, for using your brain not your strength. You wan...

What did the vet diagnose? And what did he give her?
If Lola has had these problems for a while, then it will take a while for them to go away!

Re: Waiting on my new Chow Chow to be born..
You might yet get Lola back! You should alert every vet within 2, 3 hours from you that a cream Chow has been stolen from you. If they suddenly get a new patient, they will know to have a closer look at them. You said there aren't any Chows around where you live. Should make it easier to find her! A...

Definitely not normal! Your dog needs to see a vet asap! Excessive drinking is also a warning sign!

Re: My chow is attacking my heeler.
A while ago a woman with two large dogs told me of her dilemma which looked a lot like yours. Her two dogs are the best of friends when there is no other dog around. When they see my dog, for example, one of her dogs immediately attacks his friend. She told me that was because her dog couldn't get a...

Re: Bone Disease?
That is very sad! Maybe she can get a cast for her left leg so it can heal properly? Can dogs have brittle bones disease? Maybe her bones break easily? Maybe food supplements might help, like what old people take for osteoporosis, to make the bones stronger? I would try not to excite her, to just li...

This breeder is being talked about here: http://forum.chowchow.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19173&p=197732#p197732 The price should have been a warning sign, way too cheap. And of course the dark shed the puppies exist in. Can't imagine why anyone who saw the website would want to get a puppy fro...
