Re: Weight of a female chow.

Laika looks great, I wouldn't worry about how much she weighs. Just enjoy her puppyhood and take lots of pictures. It's normal to think chow puppies look thin when you give them a bath because they look different all wet.

Re: 7 month old chow growling at daughter.

I have an 8 month old make chow right now and his favorite things are walks, treats and his tennis ball. I would suggest taking walks with your daughter and not only will that relation improve but might help with strangers too. If she like treats bring some along and they may help. I walk my chows b...

Re: Handler Classes

What I'm seeing is that people who are shôwing chows are tired of wasting money on entries when they are the only ones entered. Seems to me also that new puppy's starting their campaign is way down. I wouldn't be showing Brutus if we didn't get Spartacus. I'm glad we can just go to the local shows a...

Re: Spartacus our new puppy

They are getting along better and are allowed together when they are supervised. They both know I'm alpha dog and I won't tolerate any rough play. Maybe someday they will be allowed together all the time but if not we are ok with that. Our friend with 2 male chows waited 1 year before they did but w...

We just came home from our cabin and it was Spartacus's first trip up there. He really had a lot of fun.

Re: Long-snouted chow chows

First welcome to the site. Try posting a picture so we can see what you are talking about. Your chow is still young and her head will still grow for another 6 to 12 months.

Re: Spartacus our new puppy

Just an update, sorry no pictures. Not much has change except he is 60lbs now at 6 1/2 months old. We did skip the puppy match because we wanted to get home from the Chow Chow Nationals. We would of had to travel to a different town, rent another hotel room and then would of missed Easter at home wi...

Re: Best vacuum

The best one I found and bought 2 are Hoover High Performance Bagless Upright Vacuum, UH72600. It has an adjustable setting for the beater bar and can turn it off for wood or tile floors. I did pay $169 so it's over your budget but very close. It's bagless and I would never get one with a bag again....

Re: Spartacus our new puppy

Cindy, yes we plan on showing him but slowly. His first show will be on the last day before he will be 6 months old. It will be in a Four-to-Six Month Puppy competition and is less then 3 weeks. After that it will be local shows with Brutus as the only other chow until we think he's ready. Brutus st...

Re: Toby Earns His AKC CH Designation

Way to go Team Toby!!! I think the reason it took less time is because you did it once and learned a lot the first time. Plus finding great friends in Tony and Sharon really help. But finishing a smooth chow, I think is a great accomplishment. Toby must be really nice because without all the fur, th...

I'm out for Euk until I retire since that's our busy season and no vacation can be used. It's nice out these days in Minnesota so we were able to be out last weekend.

Re: Spartacus our new puppy

Yes, the import rules have changed but it's still possible for the average person to import a puppy after 8 weeks and before 4 months. You just need to get approval from the CDC and get a confinement agreement. We would of gotten him earlier if we knew but he still arrived 3 weeks before the 4 month...

Re: Spartacus our new puppy

Great news on Toby, but you know me and I already saw he got Best Of Winners for 3 points. I was wondering if the shows might of been cancelled or people didn't show up because of the storm. Glad neither happened and it shouldn't be long now before he's finished. Good luck tomorrow with Toby and the...

Re: Spartacus our new puppy

Thanks Rory's Dad, such kind words. We are in no hurry to finish him but can hardly wait to start. We are planning to go to a show next month so Brutus can start to earn his GCH title. Spartacus won't be entered because he will be too young but can work on being socialized. Hopefully the weather wil...

Spartacus our new puppy

Just got him last weekend, 38lbs at 3 1/2 months. Had to puppy proof our house during potty training but things are going well. He is growing on Brutus each day.

Superphoto app makes cool pictures

It make art work out of your pictures. Just make sure you have duplicate photo because once to use it there's no way of getting it back. Works great with chows of course. http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk232/ottertailguy/E7A38715-D0D5-4F0B-99BC-5A449624DAA1_zpsk0c4sw8q.jpg http://i281.photobucke...

Re: Handler Classes

I think you should know Chance better than anyone. So I don't think that will happen again. We were at a show last weekend and saw people only had their show leads on at ring side just before they went in. Other than that they had a sturdy collar/leash on. My point is show leads aren't meant for any...

Hodgenville KY

and

VIP Chow Chows ( last I heard she was thinking about moving)
Flippin, Arkansas

Wish you well,
