Re: Senior Chow Girl -- Northern CA
She's a beautiful senior girl, she looks a lot like my Baby that I lost to Cushing's last September.

Re: KODA'S MEET and GREET!
So glad to hear that it went well. It will be great if Koda goes to a home where you can keep in touch.

Re: 2 months... </3
Tippsey looked like she was a lovely lady. It is heartbreaking when you lose one of your babies. I know it is hard to believe right now but it will get easier as time goes by, you will never forget her but the memories will eventually start to bring more smiles than tears. I just lost my old girl, B...

Re: Bing - Chloe's big brother, Bing.
What a gorgeous boy he was, he looks so much like my Cocoa. I just read the thread attached to your post, what a tribute to the wonderful people on this site that they worked so hard to ensure this lovely gentlemen got to live out his later years with a loving and caring family.

Re: New here
Thanks Victory, she is quite confident about most things. She is a little unsure about kids, they move too fast and sometimes I think she thinks they are 2 legged puppies!

Re: UPDATE on KodaBear
I agree with Victory, no doubt Koda nipped because of the discomfort with his ear. However you must do what you feel is best for you, your family and for Koda. If your relatives are not comfortable around him and you have to keep him muzzled or shut away all the time that isn't really fair to him. K...

Re: New Member
I read your post a few days ago with tears running down my face. It sounds like you have a very loving chow home and I am so glad to hear that you have new chow babies. I completely understand how you felt when your home was empty, I lost Baby (11) to Cushings last September and that was the first t...

Re: at what age is my chow considered an adult?
Cocoa is 8 months and I switched her to adult about a month ago. She was on puppy food and gained 8.5 lbs between 6 & 7 months, which I thought was a bit too fast of growth for her joints.

Re: weird chow habits
Cocoa sometimes scratches the grass after a pee and other times doesn't bother. One thing I find really funny is the fact that before she goes to sleep she always circles her spot three times (Baby did that too), however if she is just having a lie down (not sleeping) she will just plop down.

Re: UPDATE on KodaBear
Just a thought, could the ear infection irritating him have been what made Koda snap and bite?

Re: New puppy.
Cocoa was quite shy with people when I first got her (not with dogs though), and fortunately not an ounce of fear aggression. I dealt with the shyness by taking her everywhere with me (yes I carried her at first). I also had a pocketful of treats with me at all times which I would give to people to ...

Re: Jealous...?
I have to agree that socialization is key. Being in a condo we walk several times a day and Cocoa knows everyone (and their dogs) in the neighbourhood. I really think that is why she is so good with everyone she meets.

Re: New here
Thank you, she is a very sweet girl and very social for a chow. She is not my first chow, but is my first red. I had a black girl before that I had to put down last summer and before that a black male. Both were wonderful dogs that I loved very much but neither were as outgoing and social as Cocoa i...
