Leash help
I also use easy walk. It's great because it gives them no leverage to pull whereas a normal harness is set up for them to use their whole body.

Yesterday I took Tiberius to a new vet. After having terrible anxieties to the point where they put him out just to do a basic exam, I was not pleased with my old office. When we would just stop in for a refill on omega 3 stuff he would be clambering to run as far away as he could if I were to let t...

Once, when Ty was a puppy, we were visiting my in laws for one of the first times and everyone was home...so my mother in law made a turkey. We were all seated throughout the living room with out plates (it's a rather small house) and some of us were even on the floor. In typical Ty fashion, while h...

I didn't ignore Ty when he was a puppy, but instead didn't give any love until he was seated. I didn't want jumping to become an issue because he was going to be (and is) a large boy

Ty is notorious for "flopping" inconveniently. I have to grab him by the collar and will him up and then hold the leash short and up or he'll do it again, especially if he has an audience. He's such a ham! At the dog park, when it's time to leave he throws me this look and a grin before he...

After a grueling 12 hours or so of driving, I now have Miss Elsa( formerly Tess) home. She and Ty are adjusting and she has already let him know he can't boss her around no matter how much bigger he is! (In true chow form of course!) They were introduced on neutral ground, came inside, had some food...

New news! Picking up my new baby tomorrow courtesy of chowland rescue of NC. She's 12 weeks old and apparently fairly social so she'll balance out my boy just right! I just hope they get on okay :/ I'm not too stressed, Ty has lots of dog friends and loved his brother to pieces...but who knows? Sent...

He dropped it twice. Once because he was trying to pee on something and knocked it out of his own mouth. The last was right outside the apartment building

I'll check into them. As of right now he's never had an interest in kongs. I tried them as a puppy and gave it away to my neighbor for her dog who loves it. He also gave up on the ones I just bought. He likes being able to pick out or nuzzle open things. Chewing repeatedly to get the treat to happen...

Considering a Chow- asking for advice :-)
I have two cats and my chow boy is 3. When we first got him my female hid for a week. My male just kept to higher heights for a bit. He's used to dogs, she clearly was not. Ty was persistent in trying to play. Tu punched him in the head a few times and ran so we'd have to correct Ty, Indy after comi...

Ty's brother had one. I believe they were two separate surgeries for them just because they didn't want to wait

Siriol the exciting news is the strong possibility of a puppy and you're welcome. Isla is gorgeous!!! :) I found another place closer to home I'm a little more comfortable with, but they don't sound too professional. However, they also keep their puppies till 8 weeks... And don't seem to have that w...

New puppy in the works!
I've gotten permission from the husband for another pup (mostly because we're probably going to have to move which will mean me having to give up my teaching job...anyways...) on the condition it's cream white (Like Siriol's Isla) and female. Which was what I was looking for anyways. Now if I can fi...
