I would caution against using forceps in the ear...it would be so easy to damage something. Even my vet when cleaning Izzies ear during a bad ear infection said only ever use ear cleaner, squidge it around on the outside below the ear...they usually love this bit and wipe out with a couple of cotton...

It can also depend on what stage of its cycle the hair was at when it was cut. Bramble was shaved for two leg ops....the first grew back very quickly where her short leg hair was and slowly where the longer feathers at the back are but the sort of in between length hair took far longer to grow....mo...

Coleena I am sure your vet must be basing this dx on more than the symptoms you mention but if not have they thought of panosteitis which your pup would grow out of?
