When will the government realize that it's those little puntables that cause all the problems? I hate those things... I'm glad to hear Pekoe is all right, Jeff. And I agree with Lou - you should get that woman's license plate and file a complaint. People like that shouldn't own animals! Besides maki...

I've switched the cat over to EVO (grain free) out of fear. He's not a big fan of it, but hey - he's alive. It'll grow on him when he's hungry enough. The dogs are now on home-cooking and Canidae. Canidae doesn't use glutens and doesn't import any of their ingredients. But I'm watching them like haw...

OK - here's some more proof that people who own chows are total and complete KLUTZes. I would like to add my contribution. Ignoring the facts that I have been known to walk into walls and fall down and trip over nothing... For some insane reason, about 1 1/2 years ago, I decided to start taking kara...

Rogan's over 9 and he only does it every once in a while. It depends on the situation. If he's on grass, he'll just stand there and pee, occasionally he'll life a back leg slightly off the ground. If he's on a 'mission' and needs to mark everything in sight, he'll lift his leg to 'make a statement'.

It sounds as though you are simply giving up. Trust me - your border collie won't be long for the household either because the behavior will not stop. Out of the two breeds, I would trust a chow over a BC any day of the year. Just my personal experience though. I have two dogs and a human child. The...

YAY Maggie! She sounds like a great girlie! Give her a purple kiss from Rogan. I hate those little yappy things that go uncontrolled by their owners. They are nervous breeds to begin with (I'd be nervous too, if I were 2 lbs.) and their owners do nothing to help because they are so small 'they can't...

Petsmart will help with the commands part too. The thing that people like me love Petsmart for is the distractions factor. If your baby can perform in Petsmart then he can perform anywhere! Even after we didn't go to Petsmart for the classes or food, we'd still bring the dogs there and work them. Si...

I've trained all three colors and while the breeders will tell you there's no difference, there's a HUGE difference in personality and it's tied to the colors. Yellows are your 'typical blondes'. Airy, lighthearted, easy to train and will learn anything. Blacks are focused, more laid back about life...

:( Ok, so now I'm feeling MORE apprehensive then I did after the first class. I already paid for 6 sessions though, now I'm wondering if I should cancel, try to get part of my money back and find someone else. egad... :( I always take my pups/new dogs to classes for the very least to socialize them...

I don't like trainers who bully chows into submission. I've been training dogs for over 10 years and frankly, that type of training will get John bit as Sid gets older. At 9 months, Sid is still a puppy and not really fully confident in himself. As he gets older, he won't tolerate that type of treat...

Most 'show breeders' I know (and I know several COE breeders who show/compete) maybe breed once every two years or so. And that's only ONE of their dogs, not ALL of their dogs. I also want to say that I simply LOVE the fact that you have ONLY posted in this ONE THREAD Cathy. It shows your true love ...

Good Grief - I have been in the Crown Court all day - I come home and find this is still rampaging on. Hasn't everybody got bored yet!  Shouldn't you be watching Eastenders? Go have your tea and large spoonful of marmite, and come back in a few hours. Do not be attacking Judy. She has m...
