Re: Need some extra cash for the holidays?
Yep, that's the one. I had to write it for my Safety and Health Management class. It was amazing to find out how many companies got sued over that incident. Guilt by association = lawsuit.

Hannah would be a great candidate to take to work with me. For example, I took her to Petsmart last weekend and that girl had to go up to every single person and give them kisses I didn't think we'd ever get out of there!

Aw come on Jeff, 5 pages isn't bad. I just wrote a 17 page paper on the Station Nightclub Fire! Just shoot for 1/2 page to 1 page per weekend and you'll be golden

We had a doctor like that - she wouldn't even give a refill on an inhaler unless you came in to see her. Doctors like that, whether people or animal doctors, only want more money. They don't care about the patients.

Re: I Need your advice
If you decide on a small breed, you will really have to watch them together. More so than you would for a medium breed. Boom could hurt/kill a small breed very quickly and without even meaning to if they got too excited playing together. Mine prefer dogs around their size - not much smaller or bigger.

How many more months will it be before you've had the insurance for 12 months? Is it feasible to wait that long and then do the surgery?

Re: no job {non chow}
That sucks :( It is such a scary thing to go through a loss of a job. Crossing my fingers something else comes along quickly for you. One idea I read online yesterday - check with your local junior high and high schools to see if you have the qualifications to be a substitute teacher. It is supposed...

Re: Chows at Westminister dog show
For instance, a yorkie in a full show coat is not practical for a dog that likes to run around and play all day. In real life, this dog would be a tangled mess by the end of the day. My sister keeps her Yorkie in a puppy cut because he likes to go out and make a mess of himself with sticker bushes....

Re: Chows at Westminister dog show
The blue who got 4th place just didn't seem right. Maybe it was the grooming but he seemed top heavy almost. The front half looked too big compared to the back half where the others all looked nice and even. Still love those blues! Wish one would actually win best in breed for a change.

I hate it when they have breed bans. How about taking a look at the dog in question and basing your decision on that?

Re: Injured Back
How exactly did he hurt his back? Did he stand up really fast and hit it on something he was crawling under? If there aren't any broken bones maybe it's just strained and will take a while to stop hurting. What does your vet say?

Re: Considering adding a new pup to the mix
Since she isn't aggressive to every dog, I think she would be ok with a new addition. However, I would suggest keeping the puppy in a crate when you are not there and keeping them supervised at all times until you know for sure how she is going to react. Baby gates are also a good idea to keep space...

Re: Considering adding a new pup to the mix
Does she seem to have only have aggression issues towards dogs her size or larger? My sister-in-law has a pekignese who will attack any dog bigger than he is. But if it's smaller, he's ok with it.

Re: Stomach Conditions
The vet said Holden was running a slight fever but didn't find anything else wrong so he is on Flagyl for his diarrhea for about a week. He said I could give him Pepcid if his stomach starts gurgling really bad again. Yesterday was the first time Holden hasn't acted like he was going to kill the vet...

Re: Stomach Conditions
I know Holden hasn't gotten into anything he shouldn't have, he's never been one to explore with his mouth. He doesn't even root around in the trash. That's more Hannah-style. She would be the one to eat something and get sick (in fact she has!). He is very finnicky and won't even eat a lot of treat...

Stomach Conditions
Can Chows get a doggie version of ulcerative colitis? Holden had diarrhea last weekend and his stomach just gurgled so badly it actually startled him awake while he was sleeping. His stomach sounds ilke DH's who actually does have UC. I gave Holden some Immodium and that seemed to clear it up (that ...

Re: Injured playing in snow, need help!
Did you look at his pads? Maybe he got an ice burn on them. Or he might have hurt a nail. I hope it's nothing serious, but definitely take him to the vet if it is still bothering him.

Re: Holly is home with us
They all get very serious when treat time rolls around. The eyes do not stray from the treat! Holly is sitting still waiting (until you try to give a treat to one of the other two and then she tries to take it before you can give it to them - that girl has no patience), Holden is alternating between...
