Re: Sushi will not stop biting!

Oh that sounds familiar, Cocoa was a real nipper as a puppy and just terrorized my son's little dog , who escaped by staying up on the couch too (I'm pretty sure she thought he was a squeaky toy  ). Once Cocoa got big enough to jump on the couch it was trouble, they get along okay now though. S...

Re: Extremely hyper chow

Sounds like classic zoomies to me, do a search on the site for zoomies and you will see lots of posts (and video links) about them. Cocoa did zoomies all the time as a puppy and still does them occasionally, most often when we come in from a rainy day. As far as the nipping part he is still very you...

Re: The “perfect” walk?

Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on things. I used the easy walk harness with Cocoa for quite awhile although, now that she is well past the puppy stage, most of the time she is just on a regular collar and leash. The exception to this when there is snow on the ground and it is slippery out...

Sash is gorgeous, she reminds me of my old boy Buddy, he had the longer legs and more open face too. Oh, and is there any chow that doesn't love the snow?

Lexi, quit worrying your mom and get your furry behind home. Hopefully by the time you are reading this Lexi is back home where she belongs.

Too funny, Cocoa is the same way. My son has a little King Louie (Madagascar) toy that sings "Got to move it, move it" when you tap it and it makes Cocoa crazy every time she hears it.

Re: Amber & Possibly the Worst Santa Ever

They are so unusual here (except for everyone that used to own one or had a cousin that bred them, etc) they are instant rock stars everytime we head out. Same here, when we are out walking with other dogs Cocoa gets all the attention and rock star is always what I call her when that happens. And oh...

Re: Sweet Chow Chow Smells

Yes, that sweet chow smell, there is nothing quite like it. I notice quite often after petting other peoples dogs (not chows) that I have to wash my hands right away to get rid of the doggy smell, not with Cocoa though. Clean clothes drying in the open air is a perfect description of the chow smell.

Re: Pack problem... Non chow

I can sympathize Jess, when Cocoa was a puppy my son lived at home with his little Papillon. Toby is a sweet dog but he is very submissive and would not put Cocoa in her place, he would just run away. Cocoa of course thought that he was a live action squeaky toy! We could not leave them unsupervised...

I use Traumeel for Cocoa when her elbow bothers her (although luckily it isn't giving her any trouble this year). I try to stay away from prescription anti-inflammatories whenever I can.

As far as worst Santa ever I think ours give yours a run for their money. http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa342/Cocoachow/Xmas2011-1.jpg 2011 and last year with Cocoa as far away from Santa as she can get: http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa342/Cocoachow/Christmas2012_zps97921fb3-1_zps6d05ba4...
