Benefits of Solid Gold

For those of you feeding your chows solid gold or the other pricier kibble, I know you're saying that you're providing better nutrition for your chow and by spending a little more on kibble, you're potentially saving less on vet bills. But I'm wondering what is it about solid gold and others that ma...

Re: Need help transporting Abby from Ohio to Florida

Well I would love to fly her so she doesn't have to be cooped up in a car (about 1100 miles) and I think it might be really hard to coordinate that long of a transport. KatiesMom called Continental for me and said that it'd be $249.00 plus $0.45/lb fuel surcharge (up to 70 lbs). The last time her we...

Need help transporting Abby from OH to FL

I have applied to adopt Abby and have said they will allow a long distance adoption but that it can get tricky. I have no reason to think my application will be denied, so I want to start planning for her sooner than later. Is there anyone in the Ohio area (and in between) that would assist in trans...

Re: Homeowner's Insurance

Ok so I just spoke with my agent. He was very honest with me. His point was that the only company that'll give you a policy in Florida if you have a chow is Citizens. He said the premium would be higher but he's going to check on it and call me back but that they don't give you any coverage for dogs...

Re: Homeowner's Insurance

Here's the statute, can someone help me decipher it? 767.04 Dog owner's liability for damages to persons bitten.--The owner of any dog that bites any person while such person is on or in a public place, or lawfully on or in a private place, including the property of the owner of the dog, is liable f...

Re: Homeowner's Insurance

Thanks, I'll read up on it more now. You said that dog bites are excluded from your policy so you pay for all cases. By that you mean, if someone comes on my property and my dog bites them because he was provoked, I'm still responsible to pay for any medical care or more that the person wants to rak...

Homeowner's Insurance

Does anyone know if the whole thing about homeowner's insurance increasing because you own a chow to be true or false? Does it differ by region? Do you even have to tell your insurance that you own one? Where can I research this more? I remember my parents years ago saying that only one of the twelv...

Re: URGENT-seeking rescue group to take Chow-Kissimmee Florida

Does anyone know if this chow ever made it to a rescue? Was he ever adopted or is he still at a rescue? He's adorable and just like one that I'm looking for!
