Re: Do your Chows get perky at night time..

I can't remember when they were little, but now they do the "guarding" thing all night. Huffing and puffing, snorting and Chuffing at the windows and doors. Apparently a lot goes on in the neighborhood while I am sleeping. It's probably just a lot of animals running around. But, they do sl...

Mine would be ballistic too.
We don't do blinds here because of the little chow terrors.
In fact, even the curtains are in danger.

It should be ok as long as you keep an eye on him and don't let him have it when you aren't there.

He looks like a big "roo". And, chows, bless them, are fearless.
With no fence, I'd worry more about the "roo" than the chows, LOL!!

Re: my baby..........

Even though I accustomed my two chows to being washed and brushed from eight weeks old, it took about 2 years before either one got used to it. They still don't love it, but will tolerate it. Every year it gets better.
It takes time

Coco,

Looks like you had such a wonderful time. My mommy says it's cold out and our walkies are getting shorter and shorter. I don't understand - this is Mia and my time to bloom. We got heavy coats too and we want to come to Paris to sightsee with you!!!

You did the right thing - they need to learn. Even for the good of their own dogs, they need to keep them leashed.

Re: So irritated...

Good for ranting - you deserve to able to rant and every reason. If that ever happens again, you go ahead and call the cops. That's lady's dog can do a lot of damage and shouldn't be loose. You poor thing, you must have been freaked out. Having to hold the two little ones and watch the two big ones ...

Re: Best shampoo for Chows?

When I wash them at one of those places I choose the most natural shampoo they have. And, I usually choose a puppy shampoo because it is gentler. More important that the shampoo is really the rinsing. (Rinse, rinse and rinse again.) And, really important that they are dry all they way down to their ...
