Carolyn, Dare I suggest that this baby chowling being passed on to someone who is prepared to look after her better might be the kindest thing for her? I don't think that being left in a garden for that many hours, on her own, is the kindest thing - in fact I think it is darned right cruel. She need...

Absolutely, their brooches would have been brought also for them from Italy - hand carved cameos set in gold. They would wear them also at the collars of their blouses. They would be very fond of the children living round them. At Halloween, they would have a little basket of sweets for the Trick or...

:D So glad it all went so well. We will have a rare old time in a week or two! :P Mabel will be reasonable good and get it all over and done with then she will be thrilled to bits and will know she looks good. Milly will fight like a little demon  but we will take absolutely no notice and do e...

So, Kayla is going to be a pretty girl! I hope all goes well and of course she will really think she is the bee's knees when she gets home. I will I could get M & M bathed - we are very busy here on The Island with a General Election and County Council Elections - Milly and Mabel are thoroughly ...

:) :) That is just the sort of news Milly and Mabel and I love to read! I am so glad Roxana and you are quite right, you should have given her the chance and after all she is a Chow! The news about Confuscious was excellent too - such happy news for two brave Chow Chows. Give Dakota a hug from me an...

Sounds good Roger - I am so glad it has turned out this way. I started to hope when you reported that he had turned his back on the kennel maid - most Chow like!

Enjoy your holiday - the lad will be ok in his own home I am sure.

Great big purple kisses from Milly and Mabel.

I think it is wonderful when they look after each other. When Hector, Rhiannon's Schnauzer and Isabelle's cat Harry lived with us, they would both wash Milly and Mabel's eyes. Even now, when Hector visits, he says hello to us all then gets down to washing M & M's eyes. He does a better job than ...

Well, following on from Milly and Mabel as Maiden Aunts. They would be immaculate in their dress. Starting from their underwear, they would wear beautiful hand maid underwear made of fine white lawn and trimmed with lace with little sprigs of flowers embroidered on. Their knickers would be of the po...

Well Carolyn, I have been thinking. I like that one Carolyn.

I will have to have a little think about Milly and Mabel. The thing is with my two girls, they tend to do everything more or less joined at the hip! So, I have got to think.

Your posting did make me laugh though!.. :)

I knew what you were going to say as soon as I started to read your post! Bless her, flying the flag, all be it without knowing, for the Chow Chow.
Beautiful, beautiful girl.

Purple kisses from M & M!

Milly and Mabel hate getting their toes wet.
When it has been raining, they go into the garden, stand on the paths and test the grass with one front paw. Then they search for the ' dryest ' bit to go over to spend a penny. They hate the rain and come rushing in if it starts to rain.
Funny girls. :)

I could not agree more Karen. Here on The Island, Chows don't have the same sort of reputation as Chows seem to over The Pond. However, Milly and Mabel are good chows and I have every intention of it staying that way! It only takes one brat's finger in a beautiful chow eye, or whatever, and a chow w...

Jeff, you are actually quite right. We have five grandchildren, aged 19 yrs. down to 8 yrs. When Milly Ching came to live with us she was only 6 weeks old and chowlings are adorable. At that time, ( i.e. 4 and a half years ago), I had the the three eldest of our grandchildren every day before school...

I hope the rest of the good people on the site appreciate our self control!!

Hello Shane, You may have heard the saying, "Dogs have owners and cats have staff!" Well I think you could add to that by adding - "...............but Chow Chows have subjects!" I am most willingly Milly and Mabel's loyal subject and so is my husband. However, we only have to loo...

I am glad the little lads are well. Milly and Mabel are beautiful and know it - thank you for saying so! They were born in Cumbria - The Aluna Chow Kennels. They are quite small - just about half an inch or so within Kennel Club Standard - just. But they are beautiful. They have lovely natures and a...

Oh! Oh!
Well done Pekoe.
Did you not remind your Daddy you are a Chow and not a dog. He should have bought a Chow door!
That is very stupid to expect you to come through a dog door.
Perhaps your Daddy thinks you do not like the proper door!!

:!: That is so like dogs, isn't it. When we get in, M & M are sitting in the hall, side by side, waiting for us. Also, when we take them out, they know before we tell them, where we are going. For example, when we walk down to the paper shop to pay for the papers or whatever, we have to walk out...
