Re: Worried/Nervous about leaving home ...

>>happy sigh<< thank you ever so much!!! You're right. I will miss them more than they miss me. Toys switching ... another great suggestion. I'll let Joe know about that one, too.

Re: Worried/Nervous about leaving home ...

Thank you Audrey! You're right and it makes perfect sense. I am very well trained! Monday night I'll do just what you ask. Leo usually wakes me up (I usually bed down by 11:0pm then get up to make Joe dinner around 1:45am) around midnight so I'll be tough and see what goes. When you trim your Nylabo...

Re: Worried/Nervous about leaving home ...

Oh Sarah! Your honesty is must appreciated. You know my relationship with the boys and you voice my very own fears about Maxim. I never thought about him going off his food, and I need to prepare Joe for this. Since we DO NOT give them bones or retail-prepared treats (Milk Bone, dog biscuits, etc.) ...

Re: Worried/Nervous about leaving home ...

Thank you, Fozz!! I think a new Kong would be a good idea. All of a sudden, they're chewing on their Nylabone again and they have a rope-a-dope on which to chew with another chewy when the other is occupied. But adding a Kong (maybe one for each) with that treat inside might be a good idea for keepi...

Worried/Nervous about leaving home ...

Greetings chowchow friends ... A friend of mine is having a difficult time through her divorce as her X is making it very difficult. She has to go to Fort Worth, TX for the mediation and then trial and has asked me to go with her to be a second pair of eyes and voice when she cannot find hers. I hav...

Re: Grieving Forum

A year and a half later and I still hurt over our Kimba-girl. Mostly because it was my fault she passed. Recently, I was able to retrieve lost photos from my external hard drive ... which included Kimba pictures ... and the grief washed over me once again. What Siriol says is correct ... you have to...

I love his eyebrows!!! I'm so happy he has a loving home. Do you pronounce his name (coke) or (kah-ch)?

Happiness is loving a furbaby! Congratulations!

OH ... my chowterus hurts. >>happy sigh<< Yes ... the snoring. How I love the snoring. I also love it when they're settling down and they "rearrange" their tongues in their mouths. Kimba used to do that three or four times. I could count on it (I miss her so!!) and see it in my head if the lights we...

Re: can a chow chow stay outside by himself during the day?

I had all the power cords where he couldn't reach or at least I thought I did, he found the one that was reachable and chewed it, luckily I rarely used that lamp so it wasn't plugged in. Oh Dear!! Isn't it funny how they either find things you THOUGHT were hidden or things you COMPLETELY forgot abo...

Re: can a chow chow stay outside by himself during the day?

When we got Leo and Max at 9 weeks old, I was unemployed and so someone was always home with them. When we went out, they went with us. At night, they slept in a locked crate until they were potty trained, then the crate was left open. Four months later, I got a job. My husband leaves for work at 2:...

Re: Hello Chow Chow Friends

We just started our 2012 Fall Photo Shoot. As you can imagine ... it will take a couple days so I can get the boys when they're tired and more cooperative. We had just finished a morning walk and they did pretty good. Here's the best of the best of this bunch.

Re: Free to a Good Home

We have two chow chow brothers who enjoy a good "chomp" now and again. I used to get worried about it, but as everyone has said, this is just chowplay. Now, we have been VERY careful with them to say "EEEzeee" (easy) whenever WE think it's getting too rough so I think it's also important to say that...

Dear Judy and fam ...

I'm a bit behind and I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mabel. So glad to hear she left full of love and support. So glad to know how Matilda and Maisie have continued to fill your hearts and help you heal. Leo and Max did so much of that for me.

Two ... by all means two! I cannot imagine not have Leo or not having Max. They are brothers from the same litter and they are so comical together. They have two VERY different personalities but they are a compliment to one another. My favorite is when one of them is sleep-barking, the other will go...

Re: Curious habits. Does your chow do this?

I find this very interesting. Our boys will do their business in one corner of the yard as well as the same corner out in the ballfield should be we out there when the urge strikes (no pun intended). No where else, just in left field or the left side of their "play pen." What's funny, though, is tha...

Hello Chow Chow Friends

I have been scolded (lovingly) about my absence and thought I better drop a line or everyone will wonder what happened to me. The boys are doing FABULOUSLY! I have been keeping their Facebook page up-to-date (https://www.facebook.com/Leo.and.Max) which is a bit easier because I don't have to resize ...

Happy Happy Joy Joy ... the birthday of our Boys!!

TEN MONTHS OLD ... can you believe it??!?! They've grown up so very fast. Leo has started to shed and looks like a rag-a-muffin right now. Max is still so puppy-like.

Re: Who here has the biggest Chow

I think your Kodi is right where he should be. I've read on this forum that they can get as large as 100#'s, but that is not the norm. In reading the AKC model he may be a bit bigger, but again, I think that also goes to parentage/heritage. Here's the link: http://www.akc.org/breeds/chow_chow/ I'm s...
