My favorite part is the outraged readers who got whooshed.
Sylvia, where have you been? Any coincidence that your post coincides with the end of skating season, or is that a different Sylvia?

Re: Getting you Chow off canned food

Just to add, there are some good fish/potato based kibbles out there that are really good for detoxing a digestive system that's been bounced around by different foods that haven't been working. If you get your food at one of the smaller specialty stores, they will probably be happy to give you what...

Re: Getting you Chow off canned food

Wow, Missy, she is gorgeous! You don't often see a mane like that on a little girl, you must be doing something right. There are several of us here who have chows with tum issues. From what I gather, if your chow's immune system not up to snuff, problems with digesting certain foods, skin issues, ho...

Shepherd or collie mix maybe, with her narrow little muzzle and peaky ears. Whatever the mix, best of both worlds... beautiful girl.

That is priceless. I love how she's mustering up as much dignity as she can in that last picture.
Very funny, but I don't think poor Lily is ready to laugh about it yet.

Re: Don't Despair

It's the grounds of the Ellington Agricultural Center. There's a field adjacent to it where we walk and then toodle around the grounds after. It is beautiful... the mansion that you can see behind the boys was built with the same plans as the Hermitage (Andrew Jackson's home). Original owner built i...

Re: A Dog Walks Into A Room...a joke.

:D Well, here's my variation on that theme.... Whenever we go to see my mom, she tries to curry favor with Sophie by slipping her heavily seasoned table food behind my back (she, who would never even be interested in touching the family pets when I was growing up, but that's another story). The cons...

Re: Don't Despair

Miki showed remarkable patience, I think. What a cute little wuffer, he really plays to the back row with that voice.

Thanks, Tammy, that's "Half a Boy and Half a Man" by Nick Lowe. I hate it when TV shows don't credit the music, I usually don't forget to.

Re: Don't Despair

Thanks. As you can see, Jack has learned nothing from Sophie's example. When he's here, it's like playing raquetball in a closet trying to keep up with him. He's such a high velocity little lawn dart, very sweet, though. Maybe Miki should come down and do some behavioral adjustment for him, she seem...

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i199/Sophiebelle/th_JackH264.jpg Here's some video of Sophie and her two eskie buds from last summer I made for Jack's mom, Jan. I had a hard time keeping Jack in frame he's so hyper, and Sophie just doesn't know what to make of him. Every now and then he'll run up...

Re: Seeking canine blood donors in Sacramento CA area!!

How cool is that? And in addition to just doing it for altruistic reasons : All dogs that have the "universal blood donor" blood type and are currently enrolled in the program will receive $300 worth of blood testing each year... all for free! that would be a pretty sweet deal for us healt...

Sophie is a beautiful girl, as always. Is her companion an American Eskimo? Yes, he's a rescue, courtesy of the Eskie RR. Soon to be joined by another eskie, Jack, who will be spending time with Romey's mom, Kelley, while his mom undergoes chemo. Jack is a true spaz, and completely baffling to Soph...

Re: Help with rescue Simba

In addition to those, B complex is really good for stimulating a picky appetite. A few spoonfuls of Evo canned venison or rabbit mixed in with the dry is good, too. So rare to open a can of dog food that actually smells good.... Poor kid, he's been bounced around a lot eating different foods, differ...
