Re: Chow found on streets of Atlanta. Need help in rehoming
So sorry to hear, Sean. I’m in the same boat. Poe passed almost 2 months ago. Needless to say, no ChowChowFest this year. Take care. Thanks, Zhuyos Mom. Sorry to hear about Poe. I do still have one boy left, he was a case of mistaken identity that wasn't a Chow but maybe a full size Eskie(I think)....

I'm very sorry. Loss of mobility has taken 3 of mine over the years. You did the right thing letting him go but I know the pain is almost unbearable. ❤

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I was last here. I was looking for an early picture of Marco and remembered I had posted some of him here when he was came to live with me. He just crossed over the rainbow bridge early this morning. He was diagnosed with stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease in Janu...

Re: Creme or Samoyed?
So you have to keep in mind that most of the "tan" you see in his picture is dirt or red clay. After getting his bathed he is pure white. Also his paws and are not that of a Chow, and hid front legs are long and skinny. Even as a pup Marshall has big paws. His muzzle is narrow and pointed ...

Creme or Samoyed?
Hey Everyone, Last November, a wonderful rescuer in South Carolina posted a pic of what looked like a Creme Chow on Facebook, it got shared to Chows in Need, and since he looked so much like Solo in the pic I went and got him. Now the rescuer has a Creme, but never saw this boy in person. I got him ...

Re: Pudding: from Austin to Atlanta
She is still in TX. After several failed attempts to get her to me on transport we have backed off for now. If Fillyok can re-home her there then so be it, or if we can figure out how to get her here then so be it. I got hit with a wave of out-of-state work and am now just getting used to being home...

Re: Nest
The night Solo got sick I had my SUV rifled through, and my wallet and GPS was stolen. I looked at many camera systems out there but none seemed to fit all the criteria I was looking for without breaking the bank. But this nifty gadget is the best thing I have done to my house since the pet door was...

Often when I am traveling for work, or even when I am working here locally, I worry about the temperature in the house. And when the seasons change, sometimes I am running the heat at night and the A/C in the day. Either way it has always been a point of worry. I just don't want it to get too hot fo...

Re: Pudding: from Austin to Atlanta
Well I do have three now Auddymay, Marco has made himself right at home and is filling out nicely. No more feeling his rib bones, he is getting stout on his meal plan. With a some Chowness again in the yard, order has been restored to the neighborhood and all are being watched and spotted by my litt...

Re: Pudding: from Austin to Atlanta
Sand is the chow coming from GA to TX. I've heard rumors that part of the transport may be videotaped for a tv show. I think it's called Shipping Wars. We're hoping this sytem works out because it'll really open up some opportunities for rescue. We have a lady in Ohio that wants one of our boys so ...

Re: Pudding: from Austin to Atlanta
Right now its a bit of a cluster. There is a website called Uship, and they have pet transport specialist...among others. The idea is to put your "shipment" out there for these companies to bid on...I guess its the priceline of shipping. Since there is a Chow going from GA to TX (I think h...

I am trying to adopt this Creme who was an owner surrender in Austin TX, and get her transported to Atlanta. I need to fire up the Chow Chow Express and see who can help in getting her to me.

Try taking some of the same brand of dry, TOTW, and mixing some of the TOTW canned, same flavor...with some warm water and pour that gravy over the dry. I first tried this with Marshall when he got old and stopped eating. Then on Solo to get him to eat more at a sitting. Now I use it for my foster M...

So his new name will be ......................Marco! I was playing with old names and said "Polo" (Solo's old name) then said Marco right behind it and he shifted his head, gave me the double eye blink, and smiled. I started calling him that night and into the next day and seems respond to...

Re: Whether to get a second chow or not?
Adopting an older dog to keep your pup company would be another option. One, you take in a dog in need. Two, the older dog can keep your pup company. Three, the pup can even learn good habits from an adult dog. It's a triple win! Doggie day care adds quick. I live in Metro Atlanta, I just looked up ...

She discharges her "poop" sac just by being frightened? No, I myself have never heard of that, not without some other major trauma happening to the dog.

Re: Help Please...My Chiko's last meal was yesterday
Good to hear. I took a moment to look up your food choice and you might find a higher quality food for your pup. It doesn't get a lot of good reviews, but most were in filipino, which I don't speak or read. But it sounds like it had a lot of corn which you might want to avoid along with most grains.

Small was the first thing I thought of when I first saw him. Tiny. Reminds me of a little black fox. He is sweet, docile, and demure. And hasn't made a single sound yet, not a peep. Here are some pix I took just a little while ago. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k290/Sojourer11/100_2033.jpg http:...

ZM, Sorry to hear about the folks with GSD, my heart goes out to them. I just read that thread and I still can't find anything that would have caused it. Hi Victory, good to see you too. Just afk for a while... 2009, 10, 11 were ultra busy for me,(drove 120K mi) but only an PM away if needed. I was thinking that we have heard about Yogi's negative issues, but I'd like to hear more about his positive attributes. That would help to paint a better overa...

He is a looker for sure. I see a Warrior-Poet who needs some help understanding his place in the house with his new Alphas while you are away. Have them learn his game, master him, and he'll be the better Chow for it. And when they do, who knows, they might not wan't to give him up when you return. ...

We really hope that we don't have to go down the road of euthanizing him. We're hopeful that we can break him of this, however my sister and I have made the decision that if we don't see improvement or feel comfortable leaving him with my parents, as sad as it makes us, we'll have to put him down. ...
