On the Pedigree, is the male chow name at the top TiVo's pedigree name?
Alfie's Pedigree name is Towmena Degas and Leo's is Rocky the Rebel Coronet!!! LOL.

Ah right!
It's just that I zoomed right in on the satellite view and you can actually see my town centre! - and my pin points directly to it.

Yes, he was very handsome wasn't he? Leo is a bit more scraggy - lol! It was a real shame for Simba. At 11 he was still quite young mentally but he had severe athritis in his back legs (hips and knees). He'd had several operations but eventually they were so bad that he couldn't even stand up. On hi...

My Chow Chows

I need to hunt out a few pics so this post will be updated again in the next few days. Just wanted to post a pic of Simba. He was our first Chow (red rough) and we had to have him pts earlier this year - he was 11 years old. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b75/astral_dolphins/Simba.jpg We now have...

**UPDATE** We picked Alfie up yesterday and he is absolutely gorgeous. He runs around like a maniac and our other chow is a bit scared of him I think! We've just been to the vets for his first injection and health check. We didn't mention anything about the murmur and let her examine him herself. Af...

Our vet heard a murmur when we took TiVo to the vet last week but he said that it's not unusual in puppies and they usually grow out it. I believe I remember our mal having the same thing when we took him in as a puppy and it disappeared and he never had any heart problems or anything as he grew up...

Laura, good luck and I will be thinking of you on Sunday when you are going to pick him up. :) Have you decided on a name for him? Where are you going to for him? I hope all goes well - I just hope it is not as bad as you first thought - I bet he will grow out of it!! :D We've already decided on a ...

Jeff&Peks, I think it is unfair of you to tell me that it's a simple decision. I have to take into consideration the costs of owning a "possibly ill" dog. Plus, the breeder is now aware that the condition isn't as bad as first thought and will not be putting the pup down. It has in fac...

He is registered at the Kennel Club and is under their insurance - but because the murmur was found at the first vet-check he is not covered for that. I have read that some insurance companies will cover pre-existing conditions if the dog has had no problems in the previous 6 months. Obviously we wo...

Just wanted to add the reason I fell for him in my sig! Laura - check - insurance companies have peculiar clauses and if the pup is already registered with the Kennel Club, he might be insured for six weeks after you get him. Ask! Poor little pup - the sad thing is, he might just grow out of it - yo...

I don't think the breeder will put him down now. His original thoughts after seeing the first vet was to pts but after seeing the second vet I don't think he will. He has offered us first refusal because we had reserved the pup. I was under the impression that I would not be able to get meds for the...

We were getting the pup as a pet. We already have a black chow, Leo, and also lost our eldest red chow, Simba, earlier this year. I have been on the phone to our vets and have been advised not to get the pup. The vet said he would need to do an ultrasound to find out how severe the murmur is. If it'...

Heart Murmur dilemma!!

Hi everyone - this is my first visit to the forums and I have a dilemma! Several weeks ago, we reserved a red male pup and were looking forward to picking him up at the weekend. However, yesterday the breeder rang us to say that after the vet check our pup didn't get 100% clearance anf he was unable...
