Re: She bit me, now what???

If your chow does not mind the dryer, use it on her dry fur. It will help loosen and eliminate the the shedding under coat.

I take my chow outside and blow his fur out regularly. It helps keep him clean, and he loves it.

Re: She's staying

Congrats! I don't know how you can let any of them go, they are all so precious. It is a good thing I am not a breeder, lol.

Thanks for sharing all the beautiful puppy pics. Seeing all these new pups gives me puppy fever, but I worry about having two fur balls in the house.

I never get tired of seeing pictures of chow pups. Yours are just adorable. I love how they sit like little bookends. Congratulations on your 2 furry babes. Keep those pictures coming, afterall, they won't be puppies for long.

Re: Bark collar?

Ursa's daddy and Loha's Dad have the same experience as mine. My current chow and my previous chow would quit barking once I went to see why they were barking. If I react nervously the barking might escalate, as in a stranger at the door, or a noise I don't like. If I say "it's ok" the bar...

Re: Why are the drug companies screwing us?

There is a very simple answer. Try suing that Australian drug company when something goes wrong. The drug companies in the US have to set aside a tremendous slush fund for lawsuits. All those ads for "bad drugs" are lawyers suing drug companies. The vet pays more for anything he gets in me...

Re: Sad day: Hip Displasia... :(

He may only need surgery on one hip. Please read the attached article. http://www.grr-tx.com/resources/hipdysplasia.htm "The THR is a state of the art procedure very similar to the one used in humans. With joint replacement, dogs maintain normal movements and mechanics of the hip joint and are ...

Re: sad day :(

What about crating her in the house. She would learn more that way, and you could take her out to do her business and play even if only in your room. That would be way better than a kennel. A dog run outside for periods of time would be ok, but full time in a dog run will probably hinder your house ...

I love Nikki without really knowing her.

Ok, so I am pretty sure I want to do this. Any recommendations? Has anyone used the door that is controlled by the dogs collar?

Re: Do you have a doggy door?

Our first chow was like Ursa's daddy. I could put up any minimal barrier and he would stay where I intended. Deuce is like a bull. He charges through everything, and will do his best to tear down any barrier if he can't push through it. So I feel certain he would use it. In researching, I found they...

Do you have a doggy door?

We have added to our house, and as we finish up construction, we are thinking about a doggie door. I feel like deuce would definitely use it, as he likes to go in and out a lot. He is bull enough to push through one. I never considered one before, because we live in an area of lots of critters. But ...

She is a real cutie. I agree with Auddymay. I think she will be very light like Lily, with a lot of cream in her mane and tail. What a pretty girl!

Re: cornea distrophy

I have never had a dog with this condition, however I found some information on it on the web. It seems that it can lead to blindness, sometimes rapidly, other times over a long period of time. Since both puppies have it, I would suspect it is the genetic form.

Re: How Long do you Walk?

I agree that is too long at one time. Deuce is 6 months old and I walk him 30 or so minutes at a time, but that is a leisurely stroll with lots of pausing for sniffing and such. Usually once a day here at home, because he has a 1 acre fenced yard to run in as often as he wants. Does the trainer mean...

Re: Please Help - sulking chow!!

This may not be sulking. My 6 month old chow usually comes in from outside ready for a nap. He usually naps by the front door, away from me. I would say she is just finding a quiet spot to nap after playing. It is good when your chow wants some quiet time away from you. It was one of the questions o...

Re: Matilda 4 weeks on.

What a baby doll she is!. I love all that baby chowatude. I have enjoyed Deuce's toy fetish. He likes to keep his toys all together, too. He rescues them from his crate daily, as that is where we put them when we pick them up.
