Shadow is leaving a shadow behind! haha. We picked this color carpet to match our dogs, it's just easier that way.

Re: My two chow chow dogs are fighting badly
My two girls are from the same litter, fixed, and they have fought. Mochi was the aggressive one in the beginning and now Yoshi has taken the "I will no longer take that from you" stance. I can and do prevent possible fights. I am one of the few that free feeds, always have. They share one...

No Ca Bay Area Boarding Recommendations PLEASE
Hello all, Time sure flies! Our pups are almost 18months! We need to go for two weeks time and although my two girls are great with other dogs, we do not have any humans that are available to look after them. They do the typical low growling and barking...usually takes a day for them to warm up to o...

Re: Just adopted a Chow and eager to learn!
Also, what are your thoughts on Kirkland (Costco) food? We have always fed Oso Orijen, but Oso doesn't eat nearly as much as Kuma does. A medium-sized bag would last Oso forever. But of course that's not the case with Kuma. My husband and I are recent grads/students, so it looks like it might be di...

Re: Kuma just attacked our Pom...PLEASE HELP!!!
I agree with what most have said, however the opposite can also be true. You can always "flood". What I mean is, whatever/however long it takes to get it through to the dogs that food is not a limited resource. I have always free fed my two chows, now at 8 months. They have had a few fight...

Re: Flea Medication
For fleas we use frontline plus for both our pups, which we pick up from Amazon, seems to be the best price. We actually get the higher dose and split it between them. It is a lot more cost effective, for example, our pups are 30lbs each, so I get the 45-88lbs 3 pack and that will last them for 6 mo...

Hi, I'm not sure if it's louder...but we got an 'opportunity' to try it out last night. Mochi decided to dig in the wet dirt , and instead of washing her, we just plugged it in and air blasted her legs! And it worked!!!
Thanks to those whom gave me this idea!!!

I believe you are in Northern CA right? If so, you live in the most dog friendly state! We have so many parks and places that you can bring her. Bring her to the dog park every other day, it SERIOUSLY helps not only your sanity but also your pups. My 2 pups are 21 wks now, we bring them early in the...

Re: Beach Bum Chows!
Thanks everyone! I ended up getting a small Vacmaster wet/dry vacuum/blower at target for $19.99. (It's like a mini shop vac.) It is super portable and not only was the cost reasonable, the function of it for me is perfect cause now after the shower I can blow dry them and then vacuum up the fur rig...

Re: Beach Bum Chows!
Thanks all for the thoughts! We all really enjoyed it. If we figure out an easier way to clean them (short of saran wrapping them haha) , I'm sure we will go more often. We try to do something every weekend that involves the twins so they get to go out too. Other than that, they go to the dog park e...

Beach Bum Chows!
It was really hot this past weekend so we decided to take the twins to Stinson Beach on Sunday! It was a really interesting experience as my twins were just totally confused by all this water (aka Pacific Ocean!) and why it kept coming towards them! This is their first time at the beach, they tried...

Re: What happened to Michael Vick's dogs?
I really wonder what happened with two particular dogs. I saw them on an animal planet (I think) episode. One was a very timid male (was probably a bait dog) but seemed to bond really well with the trainers but was scared of all the other dogs. They ended up finding a dog (that looked VERY similar ...

Re: This kinda made me wanna scream...
Yeah I know what you mean ... When walking our two pups people would stop and ask if they are purebred. I do know there are dogs out there that are part chow and part <other breed> ... but getting back to your point "YES they are purebred". Since we have our pups people would also say &quo...
