Re: New to the forum
Willow also will "huff" prior to the actual growl or bark. It's like the first things she does when she's just heard something and she's trying to figure out if it needs a full blown growl/bark. Now, if I'm hugging her and she's thinking "this is so undignified", then I'll get a ...

Re: I have a sad Chow boy :(
Oh, heck no. . .we don't go out when it rains. And, when the grass is wet we aren't too thrilled either but we'll deal with it. Also, she likes it when my husband cuts the grass really short so she doesn't have to walk thru too much.

Re: Funny Story--Willow acts out
They are all so much alike with their little attitudes!! I try to explain her to other dog owners and they just don't get it. You have to live with a Chow to understand!! And, yes, she likes something different added all the time too! At times, I just look at her like, would the queen like a mimosa ...

I cannot say enough good things about Denomarin. Willow's liver was back to normal in two weeks when she took it last year.

Re: My Chow Sounds like a Pig
Willow snorts when we clean her ears. She's done it a few times at the vets and the vet has just looked over her shoulder at me smiling with a what in the world expression, it's hilarious.

Funny Story--Willow acts out
Hi everyone :) I don't get here as often as I'd like to anymore. But, Willow did something the other night that I KNOW all you chow fans will relate too and laugh at!! I work 2nd shift and normally leave Willow's dinner for my husband to feed her in the evening. Normally, I add a generous portion of...

Hello everyone! Willow and Lori
Hi there everyone. I haven't been able to keep up with the forum for the past few months. But, I'm doing some catching up. I thought you'd like to see a picture I took about a month ago of Willow and I. She is still in remission from her immune disease called IMT. She's on no medication at all since...

Chi-Ching is thinking, "finally some great weather!!". And, yes, that flip looks very familiar, Willow does it with her cookies all the time--makes them into toys before eating.
Great pictures, he's gorgeous!!

Re: Lyme Disease
Willow has it too. The biggest thing was that it MIGHT have caused her immune disease. The other thing was that it can effect their joints. But, if you've caught it early the less chance of problems due to it. If it's let go I've been told it can cause more serious issues like kidney problems.

The other thing Willow rarely will refuse is tuna. It's not something they should have all the time but if she's not eating at all then worth a shot.

Re: Dog Food For Chronic Bladder Stones
No, I know the vet put her on it. I thought it was for another type of crystal at first. But, I stand corrected because I checked the website and it is for struvites. It's been awhile but I thought I remembered when Willow was having her issues they had something called S/D for struvites and the C/D...

Re: Dog Food For Chronic Bladder Stones
Hummmm. . .C/D for struvites? I'm not sure that's such a great choice anyway. I was under the impression that was for the calcium oxylate stones?? I could be wrong, it's been awhile. I'd talk with your vet before you make any changes though. This isn't something you want to mess around with. Willow ...

I'm so sorry to read that Chyna is not doing well. We are sending our best get well wishes to her. Lori & Willow PS--Willow would eat baby food when she didn't feel like anything else. I just got her the 1st or 2nd stage turkey, chicken or beef so there were no spices or anything. She would just...

OMG, this whole situation must have been completely frightening for you! I've heard from many people that bitch fights are the absolute worst and lots of people don't recommend two females of any breed. I think first you need to take some time to get over being upset with her for the incident and fo...

Willow's Health-Update
Hi everyone. I'm so happy to post that Willow is now off of Prednisone after five months! Her platelets have stabilized and we "think" the immune disease she has called IMT "might" be in remission. We will know more in two weeks when we check her after being off the drugs. Thanks...
