After reading your post I thought I would try it again and buy Pekoe a toy, we went down the toy isles in pet-smart I squeezed and shoved every stuffed toy i could find in front of her but nope no way she just won't play with anything except toilet paper. That's so funny.... If it's not toilet pape...

Here's how we worked with Confucius..... -As soon as he finishd eating, I took him outside to one spot, as Kiwani mentioned above, and let him familiarize himself with that spot only. Relegate your Chow to a small section; don't let her wander or the focus will be lost, and she'll get distracted by ...

This is a great topic. Coincidentally enough, I was just thinking how some of Confucius' behaviours run antithetical to the societal perception of Chows. In many ways, reading Simbasmom's post is very reflective of how Confucius conducts himself. He does not sleep downstairs anymore; rather, he'll p...

Oh Jeff..... When you first posted about this awhile ago, I had no idea this was going to be the prognosis. We can only pray the cancer specialist's conclusion is different, but in the meantime, you and Pekoe will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Take Care..... Roger

With that beret and supercilious look in the 2nd picture, he looks like a picture of Napoleon Bonaparte I'd seen. So cute!! (Diego, not Napoleon  )

Hey don't be too surprised if -after months of rigorous traing, and an unparalled feeling of accomplishment on your part- when you call Koda, he sticks out his tongue at you, gives you a haughty look, turns his back and saunters away. Smart, oh yeah.... willful, absolutely!

Hi... just a few thoughts that came to me while I was reading your post..... -Have you had your Chow since he was a pup, or is he relatively new to your household? If he's been with you from the onset, then continue. If he's new to your home, a dynamic needs to be established, and behaviors will hav...

Hey there WorknChowz.... nope it was Seameal. I actually did contact the "nutritionist" at Solid Gold for corroboration, and her response was to adhere to the vet's recommendations. This was going back over a year and a half ago or so, but I've just stuck with the SynoviCre since then... A...

Hi Jeff.... I'm just skimming thru the posts as I was away for awhile, so forgive me if you posted the answer to this separately, but did your vet find out what the lump was? I just wanted to make sure Pekoe was all right. Thanks, Roger.

Hi everyone... I'm back after a short sabbatical. Since Confucius was about 6 months old, we've been giving him flaxseed oil. He's a little over two now (hard to imagine), his coat has shown a vast improvement, and we've noticed that skin irritations are almost a non issue as well. He gets it once a...

Hi everyone.... yep, first thing tomorrow he'll be home. We called the animal control guy to see if we could just bring him home today, but it didn't work out. So.. 8am tomorrow I'll be over to pick him up. He's been doing pretty well, according to the kennel attendant who's been taking care of him....

Confucius

Well, well. I don't visit this site for a bit, and look at the change. Very impressive!! Well, I have a problem, and I'm hoping you all might be able to offer some advice. My family and I always take Confucius to the park whenever a photo op presents itself. Last Saturday was gorgeous here in Atlant...
