Re: Separation Anxiety

Our chow mix came from a shelter. She had a lot of separation anxiety her whole life it was not until she was older 9-10 when it finally subsided. That said we would crate her. Re: Is my dog a chow?

I don't know enough to comment on the Chow Chow appearance. We had a Chow mutt. You can spend some money and there are companies you can send a saliva swap to and they will give a profile of the breeds. We did that with our dog and it seemed pretty accurate based on her appearance.

I considered this bonding time. If given the choice during the day they would probably be happier st...

Re: Adopting a Senior Chow with Children

Can you spend more time at the shelter with the dog? I know some shelters let you take dogs out. If you did that for a week you may have a better idea.

Re: chow chow mix stomach cancer and passing

Thanks for the nice comments. The last few days have been a little better. Ive still lost it a few times but I have tried hard to focus on the good times and not the last days. Sorry for your losses. Stomach cancer I would think would be one of the more miserable things when the one thing you want t...

chow chow mix stomach cancer and passing

We recently lost our 12 year old Stella. She was a Australian Shephard/Chow Chow Mix/Golden Mix. She was the sweetest dog I have ever had I dont think I saw the dog grown once. And Im saying that because I know Chow's often get a bad name and I may not have even considered getting her had I known sh...
