So one more cat and chow story. There is an Oregon breeder who's first chow was raised with a cat. The chow learned to use the litter box from the cat.

There is a Chow Chow rescue in the Sierra Foothills which appears to be located somewhere near Grass Valley. They help to find homes for various Chows and Chow mixes in the area. Their web site is http://www.chowchowrescue.org You might try contacting them.
