Re: Where to buy Chow in the Philippines?
Yes, and that's what I'm doing. But it won't hurt to multitask and post here as well. More sources, more knowledge/information.

Re: Where to buy Chow in the Philippines?
Is she from Champion Chow parents as well? How much did you get it for? I heard that Abundant line of Chows are good but that was around the year 2000 to 2004. Any other kennel recommendations? Thanks.

Where to buy Chow in the Philippines?
We’re looking into buying another male Chow as a companion to our 4-year old male Chow (Lion type). We want a Bear type this time but want to make sure that we get it from a reputable breeder. There are a lot of breeders out there but I’m really not sure how to know about their reputation. Do you ha...

Re: Bad behavior of Walter
That's good to know, I'll give that a try. Walter is just about 35lbs (I know, he's a bit light for a Chow but I can't do anything about it ) so he should be more manageable than Spartacus.

Re: Bad behavior of Walter
Great. The only reason I don't use a "choker" type of leash is because I read in this very forum not to use one as it does not promote positive reinforcement. So I'm not sure how that argument would go about presenting itself in what you just said. Regarding your rope/leash being close to ...

Re: Bad behavior of Walter
I'm actually doing that all the time but I'm not sure if Walter gets the idea. He only stops pulling when he's tired already and of course that's a natural reaction from anyone.

Can you guys post a pic of your dogs in their respective crates so that I can have an idea of the "right" size?

Re: Bad behavior of Walter
Thanks for the follow-up, I appreciate it. He's close to 2 years old now and he's getting better. I don't have any problems with play biting anymore but he's really a stubborn puller. I already tried using the front-attaching harness and I can control him better with it but then again when you switc...

Re: Cage Size
But are those metal fences also being used as an alternative to cages for grown-up puppies that are not head-butting?

Thanks Would using those metal fences be a wise replacement for cages? Or are those really just for puppies?

Re: Cage Size
I see, thanks for the feedback. I was actually thinking that it would be better if he can stretch his body in the cage (similar to what he is doing when he is outside of it) while he is in it but should that be a concern?

Cage Size
Now that Walter is 1 year and 7 months old, I'm worried that the size of his cage is not enough for him. Here are his current cage pics: http://i.imgur.com/yQez4jx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xJyuf9J.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RXu1kVF.jpg Can you guys confirm if I need to buy a bigger cage for him? When he's...

Re: How much to feed Walter with Orijen Adult
No problem at all. He's finishing his food now every single time and wants more! So him being sick for 2 days was actually a blessing in disguise. So I was really wondering if I need to feed him more or what? Because he tends to want more nowadays.

Re: How much to feed Walter with Orijen Adult
He was diagnosed as anorexic by the vet and gave him some meds. After taking them for two weeks, he started building up energy and is very excited about his food now! I'm so glad that he seems to be hungry always and yes he wants more after consuming the recommended serving per meal. I don't want gi...

I actually do because I just got this variety and I'm reading good stuff with Orijen, sorry. I thought Orijen is well-known in this forum also?

How much to feed Walter with Orijen Adult
So Walter is around 1.5 years now and I decided to switch from Orijen Puppy Large to Orijen Adult. He's 16Kg and based on Orijen's feeding guide he needs around 324Kg when he was eating Puppy Large. But with the Adult, he just needs around 200Kg. That's a lot less and he seems to want more after he ...

Re: Chow shoes
Ok. When he marks he sometimes is close to the thing that he is marking and the urine is splashing towards his body. The reason why I can't go the hose route is because I live in a condo wherein I really don't have access to a readily available hose, unless of course I do a ghetto hose in my bathroo...

Re: Chow shoes
Most of the times my Chow, when outside, doesn't know how to "direct" his pee so he pees all over the place. He always marks everything outside so his feet accidentally steps on his own pee. Rubber shoes would come handy then, right?

It's not mud I'm worried about. It's just the simple dirt on his feet.

Re: Chow shoes
Since I leave in a tropical country, no Winter for us. I was just planning on using shoes so that I won't bother cleaning his paws after a walk. This would save me tons of wet wipes! Would there be any disadvantage at all if I use them only during walks?

Re: Best vacuum
Since I figured that I had to import these vacuums in my country, I couldn't go with the uprights as they're just too expensive to ship out. I was aiming for the Eureka Mighty Mite as I liked that it had a blower port but I hated that it is a bagged version. So I decided so just get a handheld one, ...

Best vacuum
Do you have any idea what is the best vacuum for chow pet hair nowadays? My budget is $150 and below so I don't think an overrated Dyson is within my league. If you think $150 of a budget is pretty low please let me know. Thanks.
