Re: Biting issue

Yes we do the grab lower jaw thing. It does work to stop the behavior temporarily, but hasnt seemed to work as a training aid long term.

Biting issue

Our last Chow, Gus, passed away at a young age from a rare nerve disease and we now have a new chow puppy, Brutus. We got Brutus at 8 weeks old and he is 8 months old now. He was neutered at 6 months. I have had Chows all my life. Brutus came from a very reputable kennel. His only issue is he cannot...

My last chow was almost 4 months when we got him and never showed any interest in the pool. My other chow was an adult when we put in the pool and also never showed any interest. So, my quest...

Re: My two chow chow dogs are fighting badly

We had the exact same problem with two male chows from the same litter years ago. We ended up having to place one of them with a friend. Most well bred Chows are not innately over aggressive to each other or other people IMO. Since that experience I have always been careful to buy only quality well ...

Sock thief!

I have had many Chows, but this guy is the first thief I have had! He takes the pillows off the couch at night, drags them through the dog door and leaves them in the yard. He usually does not destroy them, but gets slobber all over them! Also fair game are dirty socks or underwear from the laundry ...
