Re: Pack problem... Non chow
Oooops! Sorry... :silenced: :silenced: :silenced: was just picking up on this: ".... The whole situation is stressful. I'm just wishing I could find a job and get me and my animals out of this house..." I just thought that as the problem seemed to be associated with the Rottweiler/others i...

Re: Pack problem... Non chow
Well, it sounds like you are really stressed out, feeling hopeless and possibly angry about where you are at right now. I do sympathise and as I only have /had one dog I can't be of much help I'm afraid. It's also possible your stress may be passed on to your dogs thereby forming a vicious circle of...

Re: Sweet Chow Chow Smells
Yes, I've been down that smelly road with Ming. Stress is definitely the cause of "smellies" I think. After so many chronic storms here recently, I almost had to go near him wearing a mask like they do on bikes in Hong Kong...phew!!  But...........that's all past now we've got s...

Re: Shedding?
Thank you so much for taking the trouble to explain my queries. I really appreciate it. Holistic yes, I have seen it in pet shops but had no idea what it was. I will think about what you have written as I don't think I have a diet problem with my Chow but good info to keep. =D= Which led me on to th...

It's only me again Rob...ha ha. Sorry if this seems like "nit-picking" but I finally found a photo of EXACTLY the same harness I got for Ming, except his colour was red, made of really strong nylon with adjustable straps. I got it when he was about a year old and it lasted until last year ...

Constantina, I hereby send you a great big high 5 !! Re: Playmate for my Chow Chow
Yeah... I know the problem with "outsider dogs" very well...unfortunately. It comes with the "territory"...hum. Poor old Ming has never "met" another chow in his life so I have no idea how he would behave with one. #-o #-o On the other hand, his behaviour with "oth...

Hi Crumpet, Wow! You seem to have described exactly what my life with Ming has been, the behaviour, character, etc. You also seem to have the "Chow issue in the outside world" completely under control. Bravo! =D= Thinks: My only "problems" in the outside world with Ming, sad to s...

Tsk tsk Rob....ha ha! So you see, it's true what I said, your chow will teach YOU and not the other way around. Half the time we spend so much energy, time, money we 'ain't got and worry trying to make their lives more "comfortable" when all they really want is to flop on that little bit o...

Re: My baby Chow's weight.
Just a last "quickie" from me on this. I checked my Ming's health book and see that when he was exactly 2 months old he weighed just 3 kilos. He had been through a dreadful experience before I finally got him having been mistreated etc. and was very hungry but I remember that my Vet told m...

Hi Pinoy51, many thanks for your input. I agree, a very difficult case, sort of hit and miss and hope Thor's Dad finds a solution somehow. In the meantime, I am curious about this "menu" of yours... "...Their diet: mixture of holistic pebbles and Pedrigree wet food. treats: pedigree d...

Errmmm, welcome to the Forum with your baby chow girl and please don't take this amiss....but have you taken her to your Vet yet? The first thing he will do is weigh your puppy and you all go on from there. You said: "she looks really healthy eats all her food and never had any health issues ti...
