Toilet training and Holiday plans

Hi everyone! So my little Hugo is wonderful; it is so lovely to have him around the house. His current favourite pastime is sitting in the kitchen watching me cook. It is like a tennis match he sits just watching me and even some times his little tail wags! I have two things I need your help with. 1...

Re: Hello From Duke in Scotland

Duke looks so much like my Hugo!!!

Hugo is based in London, he is so famous now; on the weekends we take him everywhere with us. Shops, markets, pubs, cafes he just comes along. He is so well behaved! Where did Duke come from.. they really do look a like?

Re: STAIRS + my gorgeous little Hugo

Hugo made it down the stairs (the two little ones in the house) Saturday morning he was sitting at the top of them and I was cooking his chicken for him, I kept saying ‘Come on Hugie little Biscottino (means baby biscuit in Italian) waiting for you’) and then after about 3 minutes I hear a *tumble t...

Re: STAIRS + my gorgeous little Hugo

Thank you very much! Firstly there is no way to avoid the stairs as they are half way through our house! I am going to try the lead and walk him down; pehaps telling him that we are going for a walk so he is excited to come down. I had no idea that Chows couldn't see around them, so they can only se...

STAIRS + my gorgeous little Hugo

So I am just so in love with my little Hugo and wanted to share him! However I have one issue….. STAIRS…. He races up the stairs and then gets stuck. He doesn’t seem to even be able to negotiate 1 step down. We have about 10 stairs down to our garden which I understand why he cannot get down, they a...

Re: New owner - thanks for your advice!

Juniper that is so cheeky of your puppy! Fooling the trainer and all! But it shows how intelligent they are!! Hugo was so cheeky tonight, on our return home from the park he went into crazy mode and was just lashing out for my feet. I was trying to hold him back and saying a firm NO but it didn't re...

Re: New owner - thanks for your advice!

Thank you for the reassurance. This is not my first dog but is my first Chow so I think I am just a bit nervous about making him comfortable! Good news the panting has stopped now he is more relaxed.

Thanks :)

New owner - thanks for your advice!

Hi all, I just wanted to introduce myself! My name is Alexandra and I am the proud new owner of a 12 week old beautiful Chow Chow ‘Hugo.’ I just wanted to say thank you to everyone as I have spent a lot of time just reading over the forum looking for advice and reassurance that the Chow was the righ...
