Re: Apparently this is comfortable?

So funny all my chows find what looks like the most uncomfortable positions to sleep in and they seem to be perfectly fine. It is just so cute love your chow btw. Oh who am I kidding I love them ALL! :D

Re: REBEL ALERT!

Where does she sleep? I'm guessing it could be that she is lonely or bored and just wants to play. You could try to take her on a long walk before bed and see if that works. If it keeps happening then just ignore her then she will think that whats the point of making all this noise if no one is goin...

Re: Straighter more wirey hair

I also had a chow that had awkward weird fur. It was a black female chow her fur was kinda thin and wirey and straight as your chowling is. I don't think it is anything to do with the way you are grooming but its just the way it grows.

I hope I helped!

About getting her fixed, I would advise you to because we had a beautiful black female chow and we never had her fixed so when she was 15 she got cancer in her lady parts and since she was to old for the surgery we had to put her down!

Ahhhh good old memories

Ha! That is so funny. I have heard of dogs doing that just never knew anyone who had it happen to them. It is quite silly. I really enjoyed reading your story.

Re: Is anyone from the US?

:D cool. Unfortunately we don't have any of those stores here on the east side all on the west. But we are lucky enough to have baseball field and softball fields near us that its almost close enough we can walk. They will usually have games at night so I wont have to worry about my fuzzy friend ove...

Hey Rory's Dad well since the pin brush isn't getting deep enough use a rake brush. it worked miracles on my chow!

Re: What combs or brushes should I use?

I have used a slicker brush and a rake brush they both work well. I use the rake brush for the under coat it works really well on double coated dogs. If you would like I can tell you how I do it but i'll wait for a reply first.

Re: Guarding Chow

Wow talk about drama. lol. I honestly agree with Tippsy'smom, I don't think that tackling your dog to the ground then its back is training. It may establish dominance but not in the right way. It is telling your dog that you are bigger and stronger, then after awhile it is possible that your dog wil...

Hey Okay well I was thinking it was possible that the leg might have just fallen asleep while sleeping. Its kinda what Rio said maybe it was still too long and it just needs time to wake up the muscle. But if this keeps recurring then I would take him to the vet and have him checked out. I hope ever...

Re: What made you pick your chow?

Wow it sounds like all dogs like you! My welsh corgi doesn't like me at all. If i walk near her she runs in the other direction literally. It's sad really so i might be able to pick a new puppy and maybe it will pick me over the rest of my family. Which most chows that I have met have picked me over...

Food and diet tips and regulations

Hello fellow chow owners Ok so first off, if I am able to get a chow I want to brush up on all my facts including food. My first question is: what are the best dog food brands for the chow that all of you have used and works? What is bad to feed them? And do you have any special food routines? Oh is...
