Re: Is my dog a full breed chow chow??
At the age of one, your dog looks like a pure chow. I guess the vet said your dog might be a mix when she was a pup?
Regardless your chow is a beauty and looks very sweet.

Re: How often do they shower?
be careful with the dry shampoos. They dry out the chow's skin. I try to use it minimally but I totally understand how they can get dirty and that you might need to use it once in awhile.
I also found some wipes that don't seem to dry Sheba's skin as much.

Re: Eating issues
As an update, I ended up contacting a very helpful dog breeder because my vet was not helpful really. So she said that chows do not digest puppy food because it's really fatty. She recommended Sensitive Skin and Sensitive Stomach from Proplan since she's used it for 10 years or so. I'm happy to repo...

Re: Following me everywhere
I agree with the others. Other than their protective nature, chows are so curious and just love to be with you. Sometimes, you'll find that they will emulate you.

Eating issues
hi All, I was hoping that I could gain some insight from all of you experienced chow chow owners. My nearly 11 month old puppy seems to be having issues digesting her food which is Acana large breed puppy. I noticed she has the issue every time I open a new bag. It's the same food so I don't really ...

Peeing in the house
hi All, I need advice. I have a chow chow puppy of about 7.5 months. During the day, I leave her in a crate. When I get home I obviously let her out and go for a walk immediately after we do our mini greeting routine. Sheba never pees for me. However, when my roommate comes home before me, every sin...

Back bump
hi all! I'm a new parent to a 6 month old chow chow Sheba. Today after a long car ride (she did get throw up too:( - poor puppy), we noticed that her back has a huge lump. It feels like her bone is higher one one side and lower on the other side. Someone told me it might be a reaction to her vaccine...
