Re: Leaving Chow Chow at home & and barking
Matta, On staying out I think that would depend on where you live, how big your yard is, will the dog stay home ect. Does Popi tear things up in the house when your not home? If not he should be fine indoors if you don't have a fenced yard for him. As for crates my other dog (not my chow) still slee...

Re: Help! Our beloved Chow Chow died after simple eye surger
tayslin, I am so sorry for your loss, our prayers go out to you and your family. As for heat stroke Bull**** . That sounds to me like a reaction to something the doctor (i use that term loosely) gave him. And I don't know about vets but in humans it would be something they would test for before they...

Re: considering adopting chow need thoughts -
dogdad, This might be a little late, but if it was me I would bring the family (including your dogs) to meet the dog. Most shelters should let you take the dog outside. See how he/she interacts with the kids and your other chow's. I would think that would be the only way to give you an idea how it w...

Re: R.I.P. Solo
Sean,
My prayers go out to you and Solo, I've lost a few of my best friends over the years and it never
gets any easier. He was a beautiful dog and I can tell from your pics he was very loved.

Re: Is my Chow chow a pure breed or not?
Ylaartim, It's hard to see from your pics what he looks like, as far as pooping 4-5 times a day that's fairly normal. Also I wouldn't worry about how he acts or how big he is compared to other Chows. Dogs are like baby's in that they come in all shapes and sizes, he could have been the runt of litte...

ilovecandy99,
Get her to the vet asap, I find interesting this happened when you were gone. Not to cast aspersions on your friend
but did you ask where he/she took your dog? Anything happen when they were out? Was the dog alone by herself
outside? If so how long. Hope she gets better.

Re: Healthy 10 month old refusing to eat kibble
rufnedge-2, She sounds like a handful, I agree these cycles are puzzling. My Chow is male and have never had a problem with his appetite, is she getting enough to drink? That would worry me more than being a finicky eater on occasion. My guess would be that this is something she will grow out of. Go...

Re: What made you chose a Chow.
Tahla9999, I didn't have much of a choice, my daughter's friend has one and after my wife started visiting her mother and they got to be friends that was pretty much it. I didn't stand much of a chance against the both of them. I have always been partial to jack Russel terrier's ( we have one named ...
