Re: CHOWS FOOD
We feed our dogs their dry food and mix it with tuna. Even the picky eaters eat. The oldest gets fed with a cup of rice, a 1/2 cup of dry food, and tuna. They like the tuna in vegetable oil but the one in water is just as fine. Good luck!

Labor Day Baby!
Our friend's female chow just had a baby...just one! We are going to be helping them out since they have to do some moving. We are much better with adult chows than a new baby and mother. It's going to be a full house with the mom, dad, baby, and our own chow. The adults get along fine but I do not ...

Chow breeder/rescue in Cali
Anyone know places in Cali that sell or rescue purebred/lion chows? Would prefer puppy-below 2 yrs old, cream, male. My husband's always wanted one and we have an older cinnamon colored chow. Any info helps, thank you!

What type of Collar works best for you Chow?
Cesar Milan's Illusion Collar...has any Chow owners try this type of collar?! My lady dog's leather collar is wearing down since she pulls when she is near grass so I am looking for a great...or near...collar. Let us know, thanks!

Re: My Chows and CHICKEN!
My Kayla loves chicken but alas, she started to itch like crazy last week and was losing chunks of hair! So we tried to just give her dry food (which is salmon) but she didn't eat that. We caved and gave her some meat in her food so she would eat something! My husband gave her tuna with her food, sh...

Re: Went After Another Dog...smh
Thank you for all your inputs! I've only been living with my chow for a couple months but she's been with my husband for awhile since its his dog. I'm always surprised by what she does when she misbehaves because other dogs I've been with are less territorial. I'm new to the chow breed so I'm learni...

Went After Another Dog...smh
*SIGH*... So not too long ago I was in the front yard with my dog doing yard work. She was fine for the most part then out of the corner of my eye I saw this lady from down the street and her german shepherd and guess who bolts...my chow! UGH! The lady was panicking and was honestly not handling her...

Re: Gardening Again!
Our Kay-bear dug her first big hole a week of us moving to our new home! The grass is actually great but the gophers were teasing her. My friend works at a vet clinic so she suggested hot sauce. Kayla worked through that, so I added cayenne, pepper, and more hot sauce...she got the hint. =) We do le...

How Do You Keep an only Chow entertained???
Greetings everyone! We just moved to a new location and have been busy with the house. Our chow, Kayla, has a great yard to play in but I know she misses company. She's almost 12 years old but she is still as active as a puppy! It's a little hard when I am doing some unpacking and a dog is getting t...

Re: I need advice..
Hello! I'm having the same issue with my 11 yr old Chow. We just recently got her back from her being at my in-laws most of her life and so maybe the adjustment is still in progress. She used to eat her food so well (Pura Vita-Salmon and Sweet Potato) but now she eats just half of it. I'm not sure w...
