Vacuum Cleaner suggestions

I currently have a hoover mach 5. But it was getting less powerful even before Bubba came into our lives and now I have to clean out the beater bar and the bristles and the hoses everytime I want to vacuum. There are only three area rugs in my house so its not like I have wall to wall carpeting that...

what to check for?

If Bubba doesn't start putting weight on when he is done with his Doxy for the lyme disease what should I suggest the vet check him for?

I am thinking maybe a recheck for worms, a check for cancers, but what else?

what to feed for weight gain

As many of you know a Chow found me about 1 1/2 months ago. He is still very thin and we are hoping he will start putting weight on soon bc he is being treated for Lyme disease. Would feeding him puppy food help him gain weight more easily? (he is probably around 6 years old) Right now I just feed s...

Re: Lyme disease.

I am letting him eat whenever he wants and as much as he wants. I feed him some canned food and dry food is always available. Plus he gets treats and a little bit of people food here and there. Mostly meat and cheeses. If when I take him to the vets to have his stitches taken out he hasn't started t...

Re: Lyme disease.

The vet put him on Doxy for 30 days for the Lyme. I hope that he starts to put on weight soon. He is such a thin dog under all that fluff. When he gets wet or when I am feeling his back or ribs I just want to cry for him. He is such a sweet guy. He is recovering nicely from the neutering. My female ...

Lyme disease.

Bubba tested positive for lyme disease. I have to confess I don't know much about it. I am reading about it and trying to become informed on the subject. Do/have any of you had dogs who were positive for lyme? Can this cause weight loss? He weighed 55 lbs when I took him to the vet the second day he...

Re: "Bubba"

Well Bubba made it though his surgery just fine. He has had his shots and had some tests. He tested positive for Lyme disease. He is taking his medicines well. (he has an antibiotic for the lyme and some pain meds) I just break a snausage in half and stick a pill in the center and he takes it and co...

"Bubba"

Bubba goes tomorrow morning to get fixed. He had his bath tonight and has moved inside. He doesn't seem extremely comfortable with being in the house. My other dog (a female Coonhound mix) Bella doesn't seem happy to have him in the living room. She seems to think that is HER place. They are working...

Re: new family member

Yes we are keeping him. I just have to get him his shots, a license, fixed and cleaned up.

It doesn't really matter if he is pure chow. I was just curious. He is wonderful no matter what breed.

Re: New here

I can't believe how horrible people are to animals. My pets are like members of the family and I wouldn't just leave them on the porch with a note or dump them off somewhere. I am already very attached to Bubba, although not so much the name. We are having a hard time settling on a name. I have been...

Re: New here

I posted a picture of him in the gallery with the title (new family member) For now we are calling him Bubba. I was thinking that he had been out on his own for awhile and maybe someone was looking for him. He is such a good dog I can't imagine someone wasn't looking for him.

New here

I am new here. My name is Rhonda. Almost 4 weeks ago I found a Chow/Chow mix in my back yard. I called all the places I could think of to try to find his owners. I called the local vets, the 3 humane societies in our basic area and the local groomers. I posted signs with pictures of him and my infor...
