Re: How Time Flys Whitby's 3rd Got Cha Day
Happy gotcha day Whitby! I remember reading about Whitby's story at the time, she is a very lucky girl to have found such a wonderful home with you Pam. I don't get on the forum as much as I used to these days but I am glad I saw this. Cocoa and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year t...

Re: Any Recent updates on Lily from Me&Tess
I'm so glad to hear how well Lilly is doing. I always love to hear your stories (as well as the previous Me & Tess stories). Lilly sounds like she has adjusted very well and gotten over most of her fears from when you first got her. Our weather has been quite cold this past week and Cocoa has be...

Re: Finicky eater
She looks perfectly healthy to me. Cocoa was a picky eater as a puppy too and would leave her food alone all the time. Now she rarely misses a meal and is a fiend for treats. I wouldn't worry.

Jess, I am so sorry to hear about Jasper. Like the others have said I know how hard a decision this is and I know you have done it out of love for Jasper. Our hearts are with you.

Re: Rainy days!
So what is your secret to get the coats on them? I keep trying with Cocoa, she hates the rain and hates being wet, but there is just no way she will wear the darn thing. Looks like the same sort of rain parka that you have.
Anyway your two are adorable in their jackets!

Re: Puppy has a staring problem..
Is the retriever a male? It is very common for male dogs to give puppies a wide berth.Even one of the my mothers 100 pound retrievers are scared to go get their toy back from my 17 pound chow puppy

Good to see you back Jess even if it isn't with good news. I'm sorry to hear that Jazz isn't doing very well, I know how heartbreaking it is to watch them suffer. Cocoa goes through her allergy issues every year so I can sympathize. I have put her on antihistamines this year to see if that helps, so...

Re: Teddy doesn't like taking pills
Cocoa is the same as Ty, since I have been giving her salmon oil and glucosamine supplements for the past two years she has just gotten used to having me put the pills in the back of her throat. She even comes and sits and waits for them after she eats her dinner (she gets a biscuit after the pills)...

Re: Sock thief!
If Elsa is given access to the bedroom she will find and fetch socks out of the bedroom. She'll trot out the living room victorious. Cocoa used to do that with throw pillows when she was a puppy, head held high, strutting and with a twinkle in her eye. She does the same thing if she gets a pa...

Re: Leash help
I second Nancy's recommendation of the Easy Walk harness. Cocoa was a terrible puller (still can be sometimes) and the easy walk really made a difference. She is better now so most of the time I just use the collar and leash but there are certain situations when I still use it.

That's great news! I have been really lucky with Cocoa at our vet, although after she got sick last year and I had to leave her there for the day she baulks at going in the door now, but once we're inside she is fine. Glad to hear that Tiberius is good with the new vet.

Re: Puppy is scared of new people
Yes, Cocoa was an extremely shy puppy. I took her everywhere when she was little and always had treats for people to give her. If she was on the ground she would try to run away from people approaching her so I would pick her up and have them offer her treats and give her scritches. It took patience...

Re: Brat Dog!
Ty is notorious for "flopping" inconveniently. I have to grab him by the collar and will him up and then hold the leash short and up or he'll do it again Cocoa does exactly the same thing! And once she's down it is a challenge to get her back up, but I don't think she has managed to keep ...
