Up date on our boy.... he still has some quality of life left in him. He is on meloxicam for his joint pain. We are too just watch for more signs like incontinence and failure to thrive. He's definitely going down hI'll but still has some flight in him .

I guess my first stop is to the Vet. We need some guidance on this. I want to get him some pain meds for his leg and ask for some advice on what to look for. He can't go on walks any more, maybe just down the block but his back legs gives out and he ends up on his tummy.

In January 2013 we will have a 13 year old intact male chow. We have really been struggling with keeping up with the guy, as he is clearly declining in his health. He's got arthritis and needs help getting up, he has accidents in the house, and sometimes when he tries really hard to get up he poops ...

Ok so update this fast Friday we were at the Vet and she is now 4 months and week and at 28.5 lbs!

Oh my goodness, I could seriously squeeze Izzy. Sometimes I wished Marlee had more for Izzie's look, and like our boy Tyson. But her personality makes up for it, h and trust me she is a true chow!

At the vet 4 weeks ago she was 17.5lb.

I was wondering if dogs can have glucosamine tablets that humans have... for example... I wanted to incorporate some into some home made treats for our 9 year old boy, as a supplement to his food.

I totally agree, she's finding her way into your hearts. She probably knows/feels her your mother inlaws absence, and requires some attention.

I think thats normal, our Marlee is about 3 months now and she weights in at 15lbs.

LOL sounds like typical chow attitude, both my babies are very mouthy and demanding. It's halarious! But I agree it's the cutuest thing ever! We always have a good laugh with them
