Red Dragon, Are you being scrutinized and radically responded to with threats of breeder racist remarks causing your life to be disrupted and ruining your enjoyment of this site? You better call Bush Sounds like a terrorist activity to me you might get an orange alert going on in your town.. Love t...

Re: As The Chow World Turns....
I'm sick of logging and reading about this crap really. If you are breeder: Please be a civilized one with compassion for any animal you breed. I don't oppose to breeding as long as you don't do it only to make a profit. But logging on here to only dispute with those who oppose you is really just p...

Re: I miss Pooh
Thank you for your responses. I have begun to think that having memories of Pooh is not so bad. Of course I miss him and a part of me feels completely sad about it. But thinking about him and the stuff he used to do makes me smile - Its bittersweet. I think that while I may have trained he taught me...

Re: I miss Pooh
It is natural I think to have flash backs of the times you have spent with Pooh, I often have them about my Chang whom I lost back in 1982. I often think that it must be him just letting me know he is still around me in spirit. I even have the flash backs about my Catbalou and Teisha. Kathy That's ...

Re: Multiple Chows and 1 on 1 time
We have the best of both worlds also. Jade is little miss independent. She will let us know when she wants love and affection. Nanook is our little luv bug. He is always with us and HATES it when we are in two different areas at home. The vet is always a family field trip. Whom ever is not getting ...

Re: Having a major problem with Chi-Ching He 'attacked' someone
Some Chows will only be loving to when their family is around. He probably is well socailized but might actally need to be socialized with strangers better when your not around. Which you wonder how your going to that - me too. My suggestion is dog boarding school where a stranger would be educating...

How wonderful that Alf is getting better. He is such a cutie. I can't believe the ortho vet asked you to think about how much $$$$ it would cost you. And look at Alf now $$$$ well spent, eh?!

I miss Pooh
I have been thinking about Pooh Bear a lot lately. I have never really lost anyone closed to me, only my wonderful dog. So maybe I just don't understand how to deal with it. It's been almost two years since Pooh Bear died and I have never really cried or reacted to it. It really makes my heart sink ...

Re: HELP with thunder & other scary things that go bump or ding
I have one that freaks to the point of temp of 104. Tried everything! 2 Benedryl and follow with 5mg of valium, won't knock them out but he doesn't seem to stress as badly. Your vet can get you valium.............. Oh I don't like the idea of that on a Chow or any pet just because they have some ou...

Re: thunder & other scary things that go bump or ding
I don't know how much it would cost but I don't have insurance right now and I pay $50. per visit except the first visit it was a longer visit and more money. I see him twice a week right now. But eventually when your body and brain have returned to working in the way it should your visit are furthe...

Re: thunder & other scary things that go bump or ding
Maybe you can play some soothing music that doesn't have any major build up in it. Also dogs pick up on energy so maybe when you see Nanook freaking out it probably makes worried or affects your mood. You should try to remain neutral. Another suggestions would be dog therapy I know that sounds kind ...

Re: earthquake
The quake was about 100 miles south of LA even though we felt it and the house shook. Pekoe never opened her eyes so like any other true CA Chow she ingored it and rode it out. The news said the quake was felt all the way to Vegas. Didn't you feel it in Brooklyn? That wasn't a bus passing by your p...

Re: Bear update
I am so awfully sorry to hear that Bear is gone. I was shocked when I read it. I have wanted Bear to pull through this so very badly. Maybe because my first chowmix was named Bear, too. I don't know, but I am heartbroken over this. I know you did all in your power to help him recover. The second at...
