Re: 7 month in san francisco
awww... he and tigger are so cute together. i'm sure he's enjoying being at your house. he loves new places and sniffing around. i forgot to mention that he really likes bully sticks. he only likes the rawhide bone that is flattened so it can fit in his mouth better. i will go scan the documents tom...

Re: 7 month in san francisco
he shows typical chow behavior. he doesn't like to be reprimanded. he trusts me because i have been taking care of him for the last two months. however, there are times where he does get testy and turns his head to threaten to bite me. if someone else tells him to get off the counter or to stop doin...

Bruin in san francisco
i have a 7 month old chow chow who is neutered and has all of his shots. he is very adorable and very loving to strangers. he gets along very well with other dogs. however, he displays some aggression which is why i can't keep him. he needs a loving home and someone who will correct his behavior. he...

bruin update...
so bruin no longer bites me which is very exciting. i learned that he actually needs to have a real time out away from me b/c he doesn't care if i ignore him. there is nothing wrong with his eyes. he just has extra watery eyes from sleeping and i just wipe it with a tissue. he has been neutered and ...

shampoo question..
hello. so my dog is starting to smell. it's probably b/c i don't wipe his feet and i let him walk in the grass. he's getting grimy. so my question is. how necessary is it to use flea and tick shampoo when he already has the advantage drop on him? should i wash him twice, once with flea and tick and ...

hello... so bruin is being quite a handful with his nipping. he doesn't care if i ignore him and gets angry if i tell him no so now, i lock him in the kitchen. i don't know what else to do. he's also very very testy. i don't want him to go upstairs b/c for one thing i can't watch him and for another...

Re: flaky fur & more
his flakes have gone away on their own. maybe he was just stressed or didn't adjust to things yet. he really enjoys eating science diet or he just loves eating... i just need to clean his ears b/c there's brown stuff in there but it doesn't smell. and maybe i should give him a bathe in a little bit.

Re: eyesight
okay, i will go stare deeply into bruin's eyes and see if i can see what he's thinking also. he just gets teary from sleeping, i think. i don't know.. eye boogers like people eye boogers that i just wipe with a tissue. i don't know. he's going to get neutered tomorrow so i'm going to write a list of...

Re: eyesight
no, i don't see anything wrong with bruin's eyes. he's only 6 months old or so. i'm still trying to find out his exact birthdate. he has great hearing which probably interferes with his sleeping. his eyes get watery easily but i think that's just b/c he's been sleeping or something like that. nothin...

Re: eyesight
typical dogs have good eyesight in the dark. that's why they have the glowing eyes. most see better at night time than us.

do chows have bad eyesight? i know they don't have peripheral vision but do they not see well in the dark either? i turned off the lights and stepped away from bruin for a little bit and then went back to get something from where he was. he was growling at me until i turned on the lights.

Re: strange neighbors...
Boogie will go out, run the perimeter of the yard, let out a large deep WOOF! and then all is well again. aww. that's pretty cute how boogie checks for teddie. well, the other side of my place is this tiny balcony. bruin actually fits thru the gate and the first time i let him out, he wandered onto...

Re: puppy teeth
i think he's almost six months old or that's what his previous owners told me. i don't actually know how they acquired him in the first place. i'm suspected backyard breeder since they haven't given me any papers that authenticate his chow chow purity. well, i have to wait two months before i take h...

bruin has been sleeping in the kitchen and doesn't get separation anxiety. i don't let him sleep in my room b/c it's really hot upstairs and my room is carpeted. he has slept thru the night and remained completely quiet. however, there are some nights where he's barking. he starts barking at my stup...

Re: puppy teeth
okay.. well, i visited the pet hospital b/c i wanted to weigh bruin. he's 33.6lbs. does anyone know how that compares to the average 6 month old puppy? bruin didn't get a check up but i just asked the vet some questions. bruin still has his puppy teeth b/c they are clearly far apart from each other....

Re: bite inhibition..
so i'm guessing that i should keep trying to trade him for whatever he's chewing on... and there isn't anything to do if he tries to chew on me? i'm just supposed to praise him later on when he's chewing on a toy and being good. i think that's about it then. i think i'm losing my patience with him. ...

bite inhibition..
so i have read the articles that say that you should ignore the biting and not play with the chow when he bites you. i'm not exactly sure why but there are times when bruin just wants to bite everything in sight including me. if i ignore him, he simply moves on to somethings else. sometimes, he'll c...

Re: barking bruin
actually, bruin was okay last night. he slept thru the entire night without barking. he's fine. if he does start barking, i just talk to him from my room to let him know i'm still here. i don't yell. i just say bruin, go to sleep, no barking... and i guess he just stops. the barking isn't really tha...

i'm confused. is bruin going to lose his teeth or are they just going to continue to grow? he's about 6 months old and there are pretty decent gaps between his teeth. he's also seems smelly today compared to the previous six days that i've had him. is there anything i can do without completely washi...

Re: puppy bruin
very interesting... yea, i slept on the couch last night because he was bad. actually, i don't fully know the details b/c i was really tired then. he can hold his bladder for at least four hours. i thought he was barking for no reason so i would leave him in the kitchen. he doesn't make a mess and j...
