Re: Maxine and Kabuki playing

how adorable...I wonder if Maxine will have to taught that lesson Kabuki was aiming at or if she'll just "get it" on her own...hilarious. I love that comment Auddymay made about the ears in helmet mode...so true. By the looks of things, they'll be good playmates soon enough. Mika and Bala ...

Re: lethargy or typical chow?

Thanks for the reassurance, I think just hearing from others chow ppl that its just a chow thing is what I needed. Last time I had a puppy he was a Siberian Husky, ie on the go ALL THE TIME and I was just a kid so I remember him ever-more energetic. Anyways, he plays fine in the am and pm and with s...

Re: Wolves - Chow Chows.

Great info!!!! Now I know the name of the family of ursine branch, odd to be so happy about it but I am, so there. I knew they branched off from a family/class(whatever) of asiatic ursines but where was always the question, they are just such great and interesting dogs on so many levels.

lethargy or typical chow?

Hi Guys, so, this is likely me being the "new parent worry about nothing": I know its normal for Mika to be active in the am after our walk, then eat and move onto an afternoon packed full of napping and general lazing about revelling in sloth... BUT...Genghis being my first chowling, is i...

bumps on inside of ear

Has anyone come across bumps on the inside of the ear "flaps" - ie, the part that sticks up? the vet's checked out his inner ear, all clear there and she didn't seem overly comcerned about them. They're almost like little fluid filled hive type things, they seem to be itchy when picked at ...

Re: Tick Prevention...what do you recommend?

Hi, K9 Advantix works on fleas and ticks and works well, its "gentle" enough that if the ticks/fleas are severe in your area it can be used twice a month not just the once a month as per the box directions, that info is straight from the vet. As far as removing ticks, there are tick remove...

such pretty chows, I love the pics of Mya and her 'little' round head after she's all trimmed up, just adorable. I also love your smoothie, Bruce?, he looks like such a character, I picture him as "the old man set in his routines but loves a good play" type. Hope you guys are all happy and...

Re: Genghis and Mika at the beach

Head dunker indeed, usually she only does it on hot days but this was her first swim of the year and I think she's gotten braver since last year. She's not actually going after anything in the water other than to cool her head, I wish I could train her to fish, lol. She'll dunk one side then the oth...

Re: What I saw in Town today.....

I've never really appreciated that some people don't talk to their animals, to me and to most people who live with an animal its a normal part of daily routines to chat away to your pets, they like it, they listen and tilt their heads back and forth as if they're actually absorbing what you're sayin...

Genghis and Mika at the beach

This is my first time attempting a video link...lets hope it works. It's 2.5 minutes long, it was yesterday and I just had to get Mika's first swim of the year, we were at our favorite walk spot and someone was feeling a bit warm... and I took it with my blackberry so the quality may be a bit dodgy,...

Re: Tyton's Long weekend

Hi there! all I can say is - what a handsome boy! Cutest little monkey ever but I am also a bit biased... I think Genghis and him (and the other littermate) could be exact replicas of eachother.

Mika shows some vague interest but only if its not too hot out, I discovered over the weekend that GK loves to chase them, so adorable to watch.
