My chow had suffered with "hot spots" for a few years....would go to the vet, get pills, cream.....never worked...and she would lick the cream off....I made up my own treatment...and it worked so well....I told the vet...and now she tells her other patients....Vicks Salve....bath the area ...

For benadryl ....if for an extreme allergy....such as to a vaccine or such....1 mg per pound of dog....if the dog weighs 50 lbs...give him two 25mg pills.....if for sinus problems....1/2 mg per pound of dog....my chow has had sinus problems since birth...she has very small nasal passages. After talking to a lot of breeders, many who breed for show....a lot of them feel that the show rings have gotten very political. Many breeders are hating the way many breeds are being downsized for the show ring, and not just downsized, but bred to look so different from what the breed started out ...

I have a wonderful Chow who has over the years shared her home with a GIGANTIC Pyre, a stray terrier, a shepherd, and currently shares with a Pom and a baby Cairn Terrier (should be called terror).
