Re: Butters and our car accident

Even though Butters is acting ok, you might want to consider some xrays just in case. A friend of mine had a small dog in the car when she got rear ended. Dog ended up hitting the dash, but seemed okay for a week or so. He hadn't had a bowel movement (or was struggling to do so). She took him to the...

Re: pools

Mine loved her pool when she was a puppy. She'd jump right in and lay on her belly. Like everyone else, she now thinks it's just a giant water bowl.

Re: Don't touch my paws!!!

Is the groomer trying to do it when he's up on the table? For some reason, Zoey won't hold still when she is up on a table. If I sit in the grass (or on the floor) with her, she has no problem holding still while I cut her nails. The dew claws are the hardest..I hate trying to cut those!

clomicalm

My vet wants to put zoey on clomicalm for her anxiety/fear issues (in conjunction with some behavior modification training). Wondering if anybody has used it before, or knows much about it?

I just went through this with my two. I changed them over to Natural Balance (after all the food scares) and they had loose stools for at least 6 weeks! I switched again to Solid Gold Hundnflocken and it's been great. No more messy poop!

I can't offer much advice in regards to the food. Im in the middle of switching foods as well (due to the recalls). There is alot of threds related to foods on here though. My girl is about 38 lbs and sometimes get to scratching at her ears. My vet said I could give her 1.5 pills of Benedryl (25 mg)...

I did change the meat source. Nutro was lamb and rice, and the Natural Balance has chicken, lamb and duck in it. I called my vets office. They say to make a 50/50 mix of steamed white rice with the food for a few days. If that doesn't firm things up, they say to come in for a visit to make sure some...

switching foods

I started switching dog food about a month ago from Nutro to Natural Balance. I did it very slow over the course of 2-3 weeks. Both my dogs are still having a little loose stool though. They have been eating nothing but the new food now for at least 2 weeks. Did I do something wrong? How long should...

Melanie, the class I am in is open to anybody (competition minded, or just those looking for fun). The teacher has won a few titles with her dogs. I'm not sure I would ever compete. I only enrolled because Zoey is so shy and sketchy. It's been great for her. Her confidence has really improved. If yo...

I just rechecked the website. The herding is done in Fillmore..wherever that is. And is says all "herding" breeds welcome. Not sure they would welcome our chows..but I'm gonna ask..hahaha.

Thanks! It's a lot of fun for both of us. She used to hesitate on the tunnel, but now loves it and goes right through. The a-frame (which I didn't get in the video) is another one she loves to run up/down. Im just learning how to use the video function on my camera. I'll have to try and get some bet...

Agility class video clips

This past weekend I got a couple video clips of Zoey doing her agility class. She is just starting to learn the weave poles. This was her 8th class I think. <embed width="430" height="389" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http...

recalled Natural Balance food made by Diamond Pet Foods

I can't believe Natural Balance used Diamond to produce some of its foods. Wasn't Diamond just involved in a big recall awhile back? Here is a new article I found in regards to this.

I used to use Innova. From what I've researched, it's one of the best pet foods available (and was not recalled). The only problem was I think Zoey may have been allergic to something in it. The eggs perhaps. Anyways, if it wasn't for that, I'd still be using it. I wish they would come up with an al...

I just switched to this brand from Nutro after all the other recalls. Looks like only the venison formula is causing problems (thankfully I'm not using that one). Which dog food companies can we trust?
