Re: Sullivan

Second time I've laughed in 2 days. The first was mistakenly writing Forrest's obituary.

Re: Sullivan

I'm so sorry I stated that incorrectly (then I hit the wrong button when I tried to send the reply). Forrest is alive -- he left the house on Tuesday, and we are separated. Obviously, my mental state is poor, though I am a little amused at my mistake. Right now, I'm missing Sullivan much more than I...

Re: Sullivan

This is so weird that I got a notification to my old post today. Yesterday was the second anniversary of her death. So belated thanks to everyone. Forrest just left me on Tuesday too, so it's been a tough week. I have been taking Xanax, thankfully with no ill effects, except to help me calm down. Th...

Re: HELP !!!!!!!

She is very pretty. I've also heard their human equivalent age is 14 years for the first year, then 5 after that, but eventually it ends up being about 1 year equals 7 years. I've also heard 21 years for the first two years and 5 after that, so that math all adds up? It does seem like the first year...

The things a dog can do

Here's a belated April Fool's joke, I could not resist:

There are all kinds of jobs you can teach your dog – bring me the remote, find my car keys, go get mom, put your toys away, put this in the trash.

This is from a real article, written by someone, whom I presume, never met a chow.

Happy Gotcha Day Gilbert

Yes, we got Gilbert one month after the anniversary of Sullivan's Gotcha day. I saw a sign for the local pet fair here, then I checked my calendar and sure enough March 15 is Gilbert's gotcha day (beware the Ide's of March?). I saw another chow mix I liked at that fair, so Stop the Suffering rescue ...

Re: HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY SWEET KYRA

Yay! Happy Birthday Kyra. In our experience, dogs do start growing up at 2 -- like they come out of the "teen" years. But they do "grow up" way too fast.

Re: Sullivan Gotcha Day

Beautiful picture Auddymay. I'm sort of used to the pain of both the pancreatitis and kidney stones because both are constant. However, I've changed my diet that last couple weeks, so that is helping. I have more tests the next couple week, so I'll know more then if my hemoglobin is up, as well as r...

Re: Sullivan Gotcha Day

Thanks everyone. I've been on so infrequently lately that I've missed alot on this site. I've been in and out of jobs and the hospital and Sullivan did die in July -- one year from her diagnosis. In a nutshell, I lost my teaching job last spring because they are closing the school, then I spent the ...

Sullivan Gotcha Day

I think today is Sullivan's Gotcha Day, it's sometime around now. I was wondering today what she'd think of Lola. I think she's laughing at us somewhere. Forrest seems to forget Lola's alot like Sullivan was when we first got her. Puppy puppy puppy

Oh Gilbert, smarter than we think.

Previously I'd posted how Lola had taken over Sullivan's spot by the front door, including her weird position and added a picture. Recently, Gilbert has taken up the cause of outsmarting Lola. First, she jumped up on the sofa next to him, so he got off, walked a few steps, then started barking so sh...

Re: The Daily Puppy, Lola, etc.

Ah, I'm glad Kali is doing well and has kids to play with. One of my friends pointed out that I better get Lola potty trained soon, because if something happened to Forrest and me, that could be a death sentence for her. Hopefully, neither will happen, and she has godparents, and if something happen...

The Daily Puppy, Lola, etc.

I've been off for a little while-- parent/teacher conferences, sickness, and the new little puppy girl. So here's what's new: First: Look who's the cover boy for today's Daily Puppy: http://www.dailypuppy.com/puppies/Alex-the-Chow-Mix_2009-01-17 Second: The boys are being so great with the new "...

Re: Uh oh, Lola ate my homework

Turns out, Lola lets her dad brush out her mane etc. She has turned into such a daddy's girl. I posted more pictures in the photo section. She cracks me up when she imitates Charlie and he ignores her (just like kids). Poor Gilbert is slowly realizing he's not going to be the boss.

Lola and her boys

I posted under the general posts some of the mischievious things Lola's been doing. However, she was fine on her first day by herself, no blood, and nothing chewed up (unlike the library book I mentioned before that will cost me $10.99). She is just in love with Charlie -- I was laughing out loud at...

Uh oh, Lola ate my homework

Well, she really did eat a library book. Wonder what that's going to set me back? That's the first non-junk thing she's eaten (well, she ate a rubber stamp and a pencil but did not swallow). I can tell, we're going to have to baby-proof the house better. She has turned into a bit of a nipper. I'm su...

Re: Polyarthritis- Chyna

Sullivan was a tuna eater, it was her favorite food and the last thing she ate. However, if Chyna doesn't want it, it's not worth it. Hope you find the "formula" that works.

Lola channeling Sullivan?

Lola is doing well. Gilbert lets her sit on him. She had her first trip to the dog park yesterday and she loved it. She can really run fast (maybe how she got away?). I forgot to take pictures there, and I have others to post, but in the meantime, Lola has taken to sleeping in the same position in t...

Re: Polyarthritis- Chyna

I'm so sorry Jacqui. I know you're doing everything you can to help her. I had considered accupuncture with Sullivan, and that's my one regret with her treatment: that I never did that. Is that a possibility? That's why I switched back to our old, old vet because he does both kinds of medicine. I ho...
