Re: Best Puppy Food?
We are doing Iams puppy food (chicken). We got him from the breeder on Purina Puppy Chow. We swapped him and now he pretty demands the Iams for feeding. He's putting on the pounds and growing like a weed!

Re: New puppy likes to play bite
Our Snickers does the same thing (he's 9 weeks old now). We do the high pitched yelp like when a dog feels pain. If that doesn't stop him he gets a time out in the crate. So far it's working. But with chow pups, they have a short memory. So you have to keep repeating but success will come with patie...

Kringle Bear passed suddenly 11/19/2016
Our rescue Chow Kringle Bear passed suddenly just before Thanksgiving. He came to rest in his favorite spot, in front of the stove in the kitchen where his mom would bake cookies for him. We are still grieving to this day for our Angel. My wife is still inconsolable. We hope the pain fades as time g...

Re: Miah left us on 11/17
We lost our Kringle Bear on 11/19 so we can sympathize. They are all over on the other side of the rainbow bridge having a great time, waiting for us to come home.

Re: my chow bit me
I can tell you a story about our Kringle Bear. Our youngest son was over at a friends house playing. Him and Kringle are practically inseparable. I was out walking Kringle one day and I didn't have his harness on all the way. Kringle got out of the harness and made a bee line for the other person's ...

Re: Chronic Hot Spots
Good afternoon, Our Kringle Bear had the same issues. The poor baby's hair was falling out everywhere. The only relief he got was when I would bathe him with an oatmeal based shampoo. We got him allergy tested (these tests are expensive but so worth it!). We found out he had a ton of allergies, many...

Re: Chows Wokie Sounds!
Our Kringle Bear does the "wookie noise" when he wants attention outside in his pen. He also does it a lot when we are at grandma's house (I think he does it to be cute and wants treats). I have grown up with chows and all of them did it. My wife and I enjoy all of Kringle Bear's noises, e...

Re: eggs
We give our Kringle Bear eggs every now and then. He loves them. We make sure they are cooked (mainly scrambled). No tummy upsets. He just has to smell the butter hitting the pan and it's on!

Kenneling in TN
We are planning on taking a vacation to Pigeon Forge, TN this winter. Can anyone recommend a good kennel for us to put our Chow in? We don't know anyone in our town that can petsit and we really want to introduce him to our parents (they are meeting us there from WV, we live in MS). We do not think ...

Re: Best shampoo for Chows?
We use the equate brand of baby shampoo for our Kringle. Works great and he smells good too! Very gentle.
