Re: Help. I think I need to get rid of my Chow.
This was not a Chow being mean I would not say you have a trust issue. I understand you issue with the baby coming. So here is what I did with my little one when she was born. Re: Rash on side of body
Sounds like a hot spot from shedding. I use a spray bottle of lysterine spary the area to kill any infections that may be started once that is dry apply Gold Bond medicatied it has a cooling and anti-itch agent.

Re: Help. I think I need to get rid of my Chow.
Did you do this right after the incident with the other dog? When you say she bite you did she truely bite or was it a nip?
By a nip/bite did she draw blood? I can see her niping no chow likes being put on the back You should never try and dominate a chow as they will always rise to the challenge.

Re: Dremel users?
If you will trim the hair from between the toes there should little proplem with this. Yes you want to only use a sanding drum I do not alternate but only do a little at a time as it will get hot. I start with the front then do the back. My guys are taught from a young age to allow this. I start wit...

Re: Bella's Sore Eye
It could be a blocked tear duct. This is not the uncommon. It would be something your vet would have to look at and flush.

Could be. It is hard to tell and since this is her first and only breed once you could have a small litter. You can have your vet check her. They can do ultrasounds and not sure about your area but here they are not that high dont ask the price I would have to go and look it up but I know it was in ...

Those are good questions. How old are chows when they have reached full size? That will depend on lots of factors I expect that they are done size about 1-1 1/2 yers of age that the frame work they will pack on weight until 2-3 in most cases. Anyone know on average how big/heavey I can expect my cho...

This is not hard but will take a little time to do. First you need to teach them to lay down its easier to do this way. Then clip or grind the nails as low as you can with out quicking them. Now clip all the hair you see between the pads. once you have that you need to take the sissors and go betwee...

h0n33y I think I remeber you saying in another post you are not in the USA. If so you may not have any trouble with the nose issue as some of the other countries have changed to allow the dudley nose. At any rate good luck. Also if the photo in the post is your Chow you should have no trouble. I lik...

If you read the standard as you have then follow what is there if the dog has pink in the top of the tounge dont use it if not then weigh what the other things are and see i...

How old is Hugo? How many times has he been groomed? I start all of my pups with grooming as soon as the eyes are open. They are handled daily from the first day. This imprints in them that they HAVE TO allow this. If the breeder did not do this you can expect it to take several months of daily work...

You can try a couple of things. 1- give them a buddy style bowl one which they can not get there heads in. 2- if the skin is wet all the time it can cause problems you can dry them more often and use a baby powder to help dry up. 3- have them wear a bip(sp?) one like a baby would wear but bigger. if...

If I read this right she is just now 2 Years Old? That may be part of the problem with the last breeding. I would never breed a bitch before 2. As you can not get any of the nessary testing done. What did her hips-elbows and knees look like? Did they all comeback clean. You can always have a puppy s...

As several have alreay said what you have sone is good give it some time and see what the results are this can stop the progression and can even solve the problem. If you have to do the sugery check in your area and see if any of the vets do laser it is a lot less healing time and to stiches. such a...
