We have a leather couch and loveseat in our living room. That's worked out pretty well with the dogs. The dog hair doesn't stick, and if they do end up getting some dirt or something on it, it wipes right off with the leather cleaner.

Do your Chows have sensitive stomachs? Maximus has had one since I got him when he was 10 weeks old. We have to be very careful about what we feed him from food, to treats, to bones, etc. I just wanted to throw this out there and see if this is a common problem. Thanks.

That is so funny that you mentioned that! Maximus sneezes every time he gets really excited about something. When I get home from work in the evening, he wags his tail until it looks like it will fall off and the sneezes really loudly. I didn't realize it was possibly a "Chow thing" I thou...

Everything you said in your post about Maxwell is true about Chows. That's what makes them so wonderful and so different from any other breed that you will find! I'm so glad that Maxwell is settling in.

What brand of flea/tick control do you use on your Chows? Maximus is allergic to practically everything (he has to have a booster shot before almost every vaccination at the vet) :D and I have yet to find a flea/tick control product that doesn't bother him. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I'm so sorry for your loss. Although I'm new to the website and didn't really know Koda, after reading the other postings it is obvious he was a very special dog. My prayers are with you and your family.

Maximus had blue eyes until he was about a year old. Now they are brown.

It's been snowing and sleeting by us for the past couple of hours. All I hear is the sleet hitting the windows and thunder...not a good combination. Although Max and Ava will love to play in the snow tomorrow!
