Re: Bloat - please be informed
Sorry to hear it. One of my chows had bloat and I took him to the 24 hour vet. I heard a loud belch then little toe nails on the floor as my puppy came running out into the lobby. They stuck a hose down his throat and charged me $200.00. All was good after that.

Re: chow chow and its smell
Oh Dear! Your friend has possibly come across a very badly looked after chow. I cannot understand his statement as Chow Chows smell beautiful. If you bury your nose in their coat the smell is pleasant and not at all "doggy". The house does not smell doggy either and if they do sleep in a ...

I feel your pain. I still find myself looking for my "Smokey." He's been gone about 3 months. The two new furbies help but I miss my baby.

I'll trade you an Austrailian shepard that's hyper. All of my chows, except my 4 month old puppy, have been carpet potatos. Since the wife and I both work, sleeping works great.

My first chow didn't like me going away for a few days and left a little treat on the couch were i used to sit! He might just be acting out due to separation anxiety.

Re: Kansas City Chow owners?
Well, I AM a chow owner again. I have a, now, 3 month old cream male. I'm thinking of calling him Wopper.
You know, after the Burger King song, "It takes 2 hands to handle a wopper." I think my puppy must be the double or tripple wopper.
We need to get all the KC Chows together for a fest!

There's nothing like that purple smile and that little butt-butt wagging from side to side! It just melts your heart and makes all your troubles go away!

Re: New Puppy, Best Natural Food?
I'd like detailed info also, please. My baby boy is 11 weeks and weighs 19.3 pounds. Right now I'm feeding Solid Gold puppy. I thought about Nature's Select, see other post, but there are so many to choose from and they all say their the best. I've always had issues with hot spots and itching. I try...

Please never use one of these things! It MAY train your dog to stay in your yard, it MAY not. Iv'e seen dogs run right through them. The real problem is not with your dog. Your dog now becomes VERY protective of its domain. So what happens when another animal enters your dogs domain? It fights to pr...

My little 10 week old boy is constantly playing/fighting with his new sister, a 1-3 year old Austrailian shepard. She stands over him and he bites her front elbows and they roll each other on the floor. She's 50 pounds and he's 15 pounds. I worry about her hurting him. She will run over him and she ...

They're not MLM. I'm a MLM junkie and I'd be all over it if it was
They just have distributorships. I'd like to try the puppy food but not if it's for a small dog breed. I don't want him to grow too fast. I want him develop just right.

No opinions or comments? I had been giving there food to my last Chow, Smokey, and he was doing good, considering his age. When he passed, they said they would refund my money on the last order I made with them! They deliver to my door on Wednesdays and take any kind of payment. I can order on line ...
