Re: Holden's Poo
I think I'm having a similar issue. Does your Chow have problems actually going #2 ever? My Roxy will sometimes go a day or two without going #2 and then when she does, she ends up going in her own kennel cuz she can't control it and it's soft with mucus around it. Then when I take her outside, she ...

I would say maybe German Shepard... her ears are big like a German Shepard.
Very cute pup either way.

Re: How to deal with aggression toward visitors??
... Can you believe she sued and won? ... I would be so pissed! What's wrong with our judicial system? It's my private property and if I place something to keep you from coming on my property and you do it anyways ESPECIALLY after you've been warned, YOU should be in trouble, not me! I am pa...

Re: Crate Trainging Help?
My mother-in-law just bought a new pup and the breeders had a great idea! ...along with a stuffed animal in the crate, place a heat pad for him to lay on as well. The breeders said that this simulates the warmth of the their siblings that they're use to sleeping with. My mother-in-law said th...

Re: Chows and Kids-- Any Questions?
So... we don't exactly have "kids"... our kids are our dogs. I love this thread! It's nice to utilize this forum to show people that Chows are as mean as everything thinks. I have a collegue that said that Chows are "baby eaters". I immediately pulled this thread up...

I wonder if Chows have a 6th sense about people or things? My wife has a friend who would only hired a baby-sitter based on their Chow's reactions during the interview. Titan is the same way, sometimes he'll bark at people, sometimes not. I think it depends on how the people approach you. If at all ...

I broke my chow too!
Ok, I'm glad I did the search and found that I'm not the only one with this problem. I originally thought that the laser would be fun since he was getting sick of throwing around stuffed animals. If I could change anything, it would be to NOT get Titan started on lasers. He now spends his ENTIRE day...

Is the vomit yellow or white with no food in it? Some of the chows on here occasionally barf from what one member suggested may be an empty stomache out of balance. I would ask- How often is this happening? Have you kids been wormed of late? How old are your chows? How are you feeding them, number ...

Thank you for all of your wonderful comments! :) Roxy and Titan are great together - a true balance. Titan is the hyper one and Roxy is the extremely mellow one. When they both get hyper, they do zoomies up and down our hallway and wear each other out. Roxy looks like a lion cuz she's a halfee...

Thanks everyone for their input. The groomer that we have been taking him to the last few times suggested that I go in with Titan to get groomed. We tried it and it worked really well. It's just a bit of an inconvenience so that is why I was exploring other options. It sounds like I should continue ...

Grooming + Sedation
Sorry. I haven't been on here for a while so I have another question... does anyone who takes their Chows to have groomed sedate them first? If so, what do you use? There have been a few groomers who have suggested that I get a prescription sedation before bringing Titan in - he had a bad experience...

Occasional throw-up...
Does anyone else's chow(s) sparatically throw-up? If so, do you know what could be the cause of it? At first I thought it was because of the heat and maybe the lack of water. But lately, we've had the A/C cranked up and plenty of water and the other day Titan threw-up three times in a row. What's al...

Ok, I think I'm the only one here that has heard of this before. It was actually with the groomer that totally messed up Titan's hair cut. :-x I usually like to keep Titan's hair long and fluffy - it's why I love Chows. Well, this lady who supposedly had quite of few Chows herself and actually used ...
