How true !!!!!!!!
...............it would be wrong to suggest that the Chow Chow is lazy. Rather, the Chow is a breed of regal leisure, leaving the drudgery of exercise to the lesser breeds. The Chow expects casual, non-strenuous strolls, do not expect your Chow Chow to gaily prance after thrown sticks. He will ignor...

I've noticed as has everyone else by now a lot of advertising or non-senseical posts showing up and ruining this wonderful site. Is there anything that can be done before it get's out of control?
It's a shame that people have to vandalise everything good.

lol... I know it's been noted before but it's strange that Chows like to lie-sleep in doorways, top of stairs. across the hallway.

Re: Sooooooooo.........
This sums it up for me......................
“Those of us who know and understand Chow Chows cherish their quiet dignity, proud aloofness and their deep loyalty to those they love. To be loved by a Chow is like no other experience. After that, anything less is just another dog.”

Re: concern about a Chow Chow
Oh my god is putting it lightly. People who treat animals like this make me sick.
Please, please take the advice from Victory, it is sound.
No animal deserves to be treated like this.
Chows above all need socialization, love and attention
Please help this one before it's too late.

What is Santa bringing the furry kids?
I'm sure I'm not he only one that spoils the furry kids. Santa is good to them. (The truth is they get presents all year  ) My little girl Simba because she is only 1 year old is getting a big pink flea with a squeky head , my boy Zeus is getting a doggie electric massager. World Champion Sleepers
I think Zeus and Simba spend 20 out of 24 hours a day sleeping. Sometimes they both snore so loud it's hard to hear the television. I think like all chows they sleep accross hallways, doorways anywhere where you have to step over them. Zeus had a nice kennel bouught for him when he was small. He bit...

Re: Glucosmine/Condroiton-vit C
Hi everyone and thank you all for your replies. The glucosmine/condroiton is pharmacy grade, and is pure. It is in powder form and rather expensive. The vitamin C is Sodium Ascorbate and again is Pharmacy grade and is pure. This also was not cheap. I think i have the dosage worked out on the per kg ...

Glucosmine/Condroiton-vit C
Hi,
I give my two kids a glucosmine/condroiton supplement and Sodium ascorbate. I have read a lot of conflicting opinions on dosage.
What actually is the correct dose for each?
Thanks!

How interesting! I didn't know it was a sign of submission. This might explain why Simba will wait at her bowl for Zeus before she will start eating her dinner.

My little girl spends a lot of time licking my older boys mouth and cleaning aroung his mouth. Simba just turned 1 and Zeus is 3. i figure it must just be her motherly side coming out. It's so cute to watch they really get along so well. Never one fight or even a growl! Does anyone elses Chows do th...

LOL .... I had the same problem with my little girl. I got a Cocker Spanieal bowl with a narrower opening. It worked. What worked even better was the non spill travel bowls. They have a larger capicity, a narrower opening and worked a treat. Like this........http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/BOWLNS Ch...

Re: Salt?
-That might be the solution.
do the smoked bones in the pet shop with "nothing added" have a high salt content as well?
The owner said they do not have any salt added. The only salt naturally occurs in the animal. Lamb, Beef.

Salt?
Hi, One of my kids developed struvite crystals after a UTI. I ahve to keep salt out of her diet. She loves to chew on rawhide and those beef and lamb bones that are smoked with nothing added that you buy from the pet shop. My question is what are the best things for chewing that contain the least am...

Hi cora, just curious, are there a lot of restrictions on where you can take the furry kids in the US? I live in Melbourne, Australia. We can have the kids at any outdoor dining area, any park (many off lead) and even on the train with a muzzle. People have such a fantastic attitude to dogs here, so...

Hi, My boy Zeus had a dysplasia in his front left knee and went under the knife at 12 months. Shortly after he blew his back cruciate and had to go again. In my opinion it should be fine. I didn't want him to live in pain. If left untreated there can be seriuos permant damage. He is fine now thank G...

hi, my 6 month old chow gets a wet mane when she drinks water. i have bowls with narrow openings but she dribbles a lot and her mane stays wet. how do you keep the mane dry? I am getting worried that because it has very little time to dry out even though the groomer thinned it out and i do my best t...
